  1. Not thrilled about this but since we always stay in suites, I am hoping that they will continue to assess the SL capacity when there are large numbers of Pins. It's nothing personal but especially on the smaller ships, I've seen the SL get taken over. I'm sure this will stir things up here.
  2. You can get some good snorkeling from the beach in front of Infinity Bay resort - veer left when you enter the water. There are small boats that can take you out as well - prices negotiable. We stayed at Infinity Bay for a week so we know firsthand how good it is there!
  3. We did South Shore canopy years ago and felt very safe. Their harnesses were in great shape and the guides were fun. Yes there is a lot of walking and stairs. If you are in reasonably good shape, it's fine. It's by West Bay which is our favorite beach in the Caribbean.
  4. We have been to Roatan for over 10 years on cruises. We loved it so much we stayed there for a week at Infinity Bay. Is there poverty and crime? Of course - so use your common sense as you normally would. Years ago a taxi driver told us the crime was not so bad there because everyone knows everyone else - and he said their mothers would take of them! We walked along the West Bay beach at night and felt safe. We went to West End and wandered around. Safe. The area around the port is pretty sketchy so on a cruise you should definitely have a plan to get out of that area either in a taxi at the port or an excursion either through the ship or the various resorts. You are missing out on a wonderful experience if you don't explore Roatan - it's our favorite place and we can't wait to go back. Tourism is their livelihood and we met amazing friendly people. There are bad areas just like everywhere but I would not hesitate to go there.
  5. Definitely look at Home 2 Suites - the pizza place is in the parking lot. It's been there for years and I've heard it's pretty good.
  6. Yes depending on how far you want to walk. Almost any place on the Seawall will have a restaurant within walking distance. I can't recall anything right there other than a pizza place because we always go to the same places and they were a few minutes by car.
  7. Get To - I don't think a rollaway bed would work on harmony since it has a "wall" between the sitting area and bed. There's nowhere to put it. You would have to make do with the sofa bed.
  8. I would add that it's great to have such a large bathroom - both of you can get ready at the same time! Two sinks. In addition to getting on first, you can also disembark first and get a concierge escort in certain ports. We enjoy the daily happy hour, getting lattes in the morning and having a nice space to just relax during the day sometimes that is nice and quiet.
  9. His next sentence is "until next time". So Never again until next time! πŸ˜‰
  10. I MUST find your other reviews!!! Help me find them!! You have me cackling. First - egads, no the swinger thing is NOT a Texas thing. We sailed out of PC years back and there was one boarding our ship after us - they chartered the entire ship. OH MY - the stories our cabin steward told us! YIKES Yeah, we have done Harmony twice but Voyager and Freedom class are our faves. Although we do love Coastal Kitchen.....The lack of a pool in the Solarium is such a boneheaded design decision. Fie on those responsible! I hope Wolf's sweet doggie keeps up the good work. I lost my beloved Taquito a few weeks ago. He had the same coloring and masking. We still have Taco and Tamale to continue as chi parents. Yes - we had a theme with the names. Don't judge me. I did well in the casino on Harmony last December. Wheel of Fortune was consistently generous and let me play. I hope it treats you well. Now...about those other reviews......
  11. The easiest one is Ft Lauderdale - the port is just minutes away from the airport. Port Canaveral is fine but you have to fly into Orlando and shuttle service is great, you are looking at 45 minute transfer - without traffic. And the Orlando airport is insane with all the Disney/Universal people. I haven't done the others but my two cents would be FLL.
  12. Dog hog, I'm sorry if you didn't understand my sarcasm. Tone is often hard to interpret when reading. Of course we didn't "enjoy" seeing her being a jerk. The staff handled it beautifully and we are always impressed at how gracious they are to passengers at ANY level who treat them poorly. I totally agree with all of you saying that bad behavior has nothing to do with tier levels and cabin categories. But when a passenger uses their status or cabin as a weapon to bully staff, then yes, it does reflect poorly not just on them but on the status they love to boast about. Kindness and respect should be a priority for every passenger. Out of over 30 cruises, we have seen very few rude passengers but it has been our experience that most of the time it has come from people old enough to know better and from those who are regular cruisers.
  13. I was being sarcastic. VERY sarcastic. She should have behaved better. We saw she was one of the top cruisers on the sailing so she should have been much nicer to the staff - and to other passengers. It's that type of behavior that gives ALL the Pinnacles a bad rep. Those that were with her should have stepped up and controlled it. I would never associate with someone who treated the staff the way she did.
  14. We mainly cruise out of Galveston and I have definitely seen the P's attempt to take over the Suite Lounge but not every single time. We have also seen the bad entitled behavior as well as friendly delightful people. I did notice a huge difference on Harmony last fall when only the top 30 were allowed - the SL was always busy but no circles or furniture being moved. We still laugh about a certain P "lady" who demanded my 6'5 husband move away from the elevator buttons so she could press the button to close the door faster- sometimes almost on people. When we were the only ones left on the elevator and it was obvious we were all going to the SL, she barged off the elevator and managed to slam the door to the SL in our face. We "enjoyed" seeing her berate the staff all week. What a gem she was! Be interesting to see how the Mariner SL will be this spring.
