Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. When Royal has a day stop in San Juan, I thought I read somewhere that they will dock in Old San Juan downtown instead of the Pan America pier. Is this the case, I hope?
  2. My husband kept getting dizzy. His Dr also said dehydration and that he needed electrolytes. She told him first thing in the morning to mix 8 - 16 oz. water, a capful of lemon juice and 1/8 tsp of pink salt and drink it up. He could not believe the change. His energy level is back up there. He feels great and is 81. Wouldn't hurt to try it!
  3. Yes, I have been there before and do love it. I don't think the hubby would do a TA anyway...too many sea days.
  4. Oh, that might be interesting. We are on that cruise that ends in Barcelona on the 21st. I was planning on staying a couple days in Barcelona but would consider a WB TA if that's how it plays out.
  5. I am doing a similar cruise (except no Jamaica and leaving from Miami), March 2025 on Royal. I too am tired of all the same ports from Galveston. I don't even look anymore.
  6. As soon as airfare opens, check out Air2sea with Royal. I was able to get DFW to FCO(Rome) RT for $813 pp. They are the cheap seats, but oh well. This was for Aug. 2024. I had to purchase seats on the Air France leg but it was only an extra $40 pp.
  7. Is there any advantage to paying off A2S prior to final payment (like 6 months in advance)? We have chosen our seats on Air France and American (paid for on AF). By paying off this far in advance, would we be considered "ticketed" and more guaranteed of having the seats we chose (barring the fact that planes can change and all that? If we pay off A2S, do they just hold on to that money or do they go ahead and pay off the airlines for our tickets? If they just hold on to the funds then I guess it doesn't really gain us anything, right?
  8. How does that work when you prepay the gratuities and your final payment isn't due yet? Do you actually pay it prior to final payment or just have it selected as prepay? I have a cruise that is in 2024.
  9. The correct answer is you can NOT use the promotional OBC to prepay gratuities. You can only use the OBC for items in your cruise planner. BUT, you CAN use it to pay the gratuities once on the ship.
  10. That is what I normally do. My question is if I want to prepay prior to getting on the ship, can I use the OBC that is considered promotional OBC and shows to use for pre cruise purchases.
  11. Sorry if this has already been addressed. I have some OBC that shows on my booking that I know can be used for an excursion. If I choose to pre-pay gratuities, am I able to use this OBC towards them? My cruise is already fully paid and my plan was to the OBC for the grats.
