Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We booked 3 rooms and two rooms have teens in them. The 19 year old is the 2nd person in a 2 person cabin and he received the Ultimate Soda Beverage Package with the booking. The 17 year old was the #3 guest in another cabin and we purchased the Soda Package for her for $107.46. We also purchased 2 specialty dining for her and the Wi-Fi package separately because she was not eligible to receive the package that all of the rest of us received. Hope that helps.
  2. We had the Premium Package on our October NCL cruise and ordered premium bottles of wine at restaurants every night. If you are getting wine at a bar, then we ordered the high end wines by the glass. The menus showed which wines were included in the packages. I hope that they didn’t change it. We’re getting ready for a 9-day Med cruise in June.
  3. The people w/o passports need to contact NCL ASAP to find out for sure. That itinerary is not a Caribbean itinerary. Closed-loop Caribbean itineraries may be fine for the birth certificate option, but you’re in South America and Central America for part of this itinerary. They may need to get to a passport office ASAP to get a passport issued. If they have their certified birth certificate, it should be easy, but they’ll have to go in person to get it done ASAP. Just renewed my husband’s passport online and expedited and it took 5 weeks. Always go to the source for clarity.
  4. Who doesn’t make hard copies or take screen shots of their Paid In Full cruise documents for their records? I always have hard copies of my documents just in case anything goes wrong or if there is a question about anything with the trip. This story makes no sense. All that not paying for a ship transfer means is that you don’t get the ship transfer! The entire cruise isn’t cancelled! One literally has nothing to do with the other. Items left in your cart and not paid for don’t keep you from cruising. They just don’t enable you to use the service that you didn’t pay for. I’ve been on 24 cruises and this situation makes no sense. If NCL had a question about an item in someone’s shopping cart to give them an opportunity to pay for it before it would be deleted, then they would have reached out to the client. If you don’t pay for a service, you simply don’t get that service.
  5. You’re not too far out to book excursions. We are booked on the June 5th 9 day Med cruise on the Breakaway and I was disappointed with the NCL excursion offerings. There weren’t many and they were very overpriced in my opinion. I booked all of my excursions with Viator. I’ve used them before in various ports and they have many reasonable options with local providers. I didn’t book one excursion with NCL for this trip.
  6. It worked well for me. I initially booked for a Deluxe Balcony on the Enchanted Princess for our upcoming New Year’s cruise. I placed my bid in a few days after I booked and a few weeks ago I received an e-mail that the bid was accepted and I had 12 hours or so to remit the payment for the upgrade. I don’t use a TA so the e-mail came directly to me and for about $300 for the both of us received a larger room with a balcony about twice the size of our initial room. It’s a 10-day cruise so the extra elbow-room will be appreciated.
