Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I doubt is is an actual trolly - I'm sure the beef comes out of the kitchen like all the other meals. That's why no on knows about it.
  2. Sorry, I added May Reza who was my old CVP by error. She retired a couple years ago and I had to do the hunt to find a new CVP because the one assigned was not helpful.
  3. Booking online is fine...until something goes wrong! Then you are at the mercy of the off shore call center. Definately use a CVP Mary Reza. I've seen a few names posted on CC, including one business card for a CVP. A bad CVP is not useful either. If you come across a post with a recommendation, try that person. Otherwise, use a local or online discount cruise site or take your chances booking on your own. Then when you are on your cruise ask EVERYONE you strike up a conversation with how they book. You should be able to get a couple of good recommendations.
  4. I eat by myself in the MDR often if DH is not feeling well, which is frequent at the start of a cruise. He's just not a good traveler! I just go to the MDR and sometimes I like to eat by myself and other times I'll share. Generally, if you say dinner for one, they will ask if you want to share or you can specify. They do start the shared table dinner service when the table is full or a reasonable amount of time has passed waiting g to fill.
  5. Hi @CanadianBurger, Cindy here from the 14 day Carribean Circle in December. You kindly reserved my Sanctuary spot for me when my fligjt was delayed. I'm enjoying your live thread commentary, pictures and learning the ins and outs of the Sun. I'll be interested in you final summary of pros and cons of this ship. Enjoy!
  6. They came out in July or August last year for late 2024/early 2025 South America/Antarctica. They had great early booking promotions last year, don't know if that is normal.
  7. My bad. I didn't realize you were going from the port to LAX. In that case, Princess transfers are okay, but uber or taxi will be cheaper. As others have said, there will be plenty at the pier. You can also get cheap SIM cards at the airport, any corner store, etc. so you could use your phone if you want. If it's only to call an Uber, not worth it.
  8. I've heard the Princess transfers from LAX are a zoo. Take a taxi or even a shuttle like Super Shuttle. Either choice for 2 will be cheaper than the Princess transfers.
  9. Some treatments will give you access to.the enclave/Thermal suites.
  10. I have good quality.small plastic travel bottles that I use to hold.my shampoo, conditioner, face products. I rarely wear makeup so I just take a small container (sometimes old contact lens cases) for foundation. I do take a full tube of toothpase that DH and I share. For deodorant I just take a regular size container, but.if.im doing carry on only you can just cut a small piece.of.stick Deodorant to.take. We do overboard on taking a small medicine store with us. Cold meds, anti inflammatory, Polysporin eye/ear drops, another diarrhea, gravol, hemorrhoid cream, antibiotic ointment, muscle pain ointments. It's ridiculous. But there is nothing worse than being sick and not having your favorite remedy with you. Usually they all come home with us 😆 !
  11. I put my meds into the old man pill sorter too. I take my prescription receipts with me that identify the drug. I've never had a problem and don't think any older person would have a problem. The original container stuff is BS because you can put anything in that container. I've done east and west TA days - like the west ones better. If you enjoy sea days, you'll love the TAs.
  12. My husband spent several days in the ships "ICU" on one cruise. The medical staff were excellent. Most of them are Emergency Room docs and nurses. They do have limited hours for walkin appointments, but the center is staffed 24 hours a day and there's usually a patient or two admitted. People have to remember that the medical team not only provides care for the passengers, but also for the crew that are onboard for months at a time.
  13. Yes, Lima Tours is the name on my itinerary.
  14. We arr doing the MP after our upcoming cruise in December. If you open or print out the full itinerary (from the Princess website in the cruise personalizer) to see the details of the tour. It will have hotels, what meals are included and what you will be doing each day. There is info there on packing as well. Essentially, you leave large luggage in Lima and only take a small bag on MP part.
  15. Ezair does not change flights; the airlines do. But you are correct, if you call EZair or your CVP they can usually get it changed with no cost.
