Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hi; I have life threatening nut allergies, and I have been sailing safely with HAL for the past 30 years! I recommend eating, whenever possible, in the main dining room. Get to know your wait staff. They are always diligent. For instance, I was at afternoon tea when our waiter appeared at my side with a plate of delicacies special chosen for me! Another time, at lunch, he appeared with a basket of bread just for me. At dinner I am presented with the following evening's menu. I fill it in, and sometimes, if an item is with nuts, I ask if it can be made specially for me - and it is. HAL is wonderful. If possible, however, I recommend sailing with more than one epipen. That gives both me and my husband some security. Have a wonderful cruise - your grandson will be in good hands!
  2. I agree with changing your option to traditional dining, if possible. Our travel agent contacted RCCL with a request to change to traditional dining instead of MTD because of my severe nut allergies. The change was made immediately. Try contacting RCCL , or, as suggested, see the maitre'd as soon as you board.
  3. That's what I thought, too - actually 5:30 and 8, but we have been given a time of 6. Not sure what that means or where we will be eating!
  4. As a new cruiser with Royal Caribbean I have asked for a change from My Time Dining to Fixed Dining on our New Year cruise wit Jewel of the Seas. Our family, travelling together, were unable to get the same dining reservations using the app, so I asked our travel agent to change to fixed dining for the six of us. Here's my question - we were given a dining time of 6 p.m. To what level of the dining room would we be assigned? Thanks!
  5. We are taking the family for our first cruise with Royal Caribbean, on the Jewel of the Seas. What can we expect for our New Year's Eve experience? Any information, recommendations would be appreciated.
  6. We are actually on the New Year's Eve cruise out of San Juan. I really appreciate the responses - from what I can see, we can go with either MTD or set dining. The Maitre'D should be able to help! As a cruiser with many sailings with a variety of lines, I'm looking forward to a new experience.
  7. Thank you cruisegirl1 - that is exactly what I wanted! And Starry Eyes.
  8. Our family is taking its first Royal Caribbean cruise late this year on the Jewel of the Seas. I have severe allergies that RCI has told me they can accommodate, however they have asked me to consider selecting a set dining time so that we may have the same servers on a daily basis. Before I make that request, I have two questions that I am hoping can be answered: 1. What are the set times for dining? 2. How many shows are presented nightly, and at what times? ( I have family who love to be entertained!) Thank you for any assistance you can give me.
