  1. Orv...thank you so much for posting. We embark Marina Feb 14 in Santiago and appreciate your mumblings and musings.
  2. thought I'd pass this on..... We attempted to acquire trip insurance from a well known and reputable company only to be told that because Israeli ports are on the itinerary we cannot be insured. This is for a 2025 cruise.
  3. June 2024 will be the 80th Anniversary of DDay. Perhaps there might be difficulties finding guides for ships' passengers.
  4. Excellent source told me that Vista will be the ATW26 ship.
  5. we often diy walking tours and use gpsmycity.com to plan our walks. On the upper right find "all cities" and then click on the appropriate continent. You will be rewarded by an alphabetical list of countries with the cities offered. When you click on the city you want you will often see more than one walking tour. One might be an Introductory tour, another may be architectural gems, etc. Also read the articles since the author sometimes writes about bars, cafes, restaurants, and cool little shops. You will find with each tour an accompanying map that you can download but since I worry that the phone will not function, we also print out the map! Each map location then has further info. I print it all! Here is an example using Gothenburg..... https://www.gpsmycity.com/tours/gothenburg-introduction-walking-tour-3991.html Good luck! (there are many others I use as well, but this is a good start) Have fun!
  6. Hi Bob! I think we're on Insignia. Wish we were sailing with y'all. Enjoy your remaining time on Insignia ATW23!
  7. One of my favorite things to do onboard is to finish trivia in the Lounge and meet Mr Wonderful in Horizons for Happy Hour. We often see the glories of sail away, discuss our day, and I quiz him on the day's trivia. He has a soda and I have a glass of wine. That's it. Sometimes staff people join us in Horizons and we pick up their tab. So... I'm guessing we will still run a bar tab for me and guests when Simply More begins? Unfortunately I see no benefit to this new plan for us.
  8. Francie, I should have mentioned that on ATW16 we lost our beloved Don Horner (Hondorner for those of you who know) CD Andy Heath had a wonderful memorial service for him onboard. We may cruise Christmas '23 and for sure we're sailing the summer 2024 and hope to be gone over 2 months. We're eagerly waiting for the July-Dec 2025 to be published.
  9. Hi Francie! You're right.....sitting on the verandah with your sweetie watching the sea is about as close to a perfect time as you can have. I know you miss him so much. Passengers, staff, and crew from ATW16 remain in touch with each other through the social media that must not be named. We cheer news of a new baby, a graduation, a wedding, and send love during the bad times. When we meet onboard again it's simply the best. I'm delighted that you are going to sail again! Big hugs to you
  10. Our favorite memory on Oceania was every day on ATW16.
  11. Hi! We took 4 Overlands and Began on ATW16 and had 2 completed with 3 more scheduled for ATW20 before it was cancelled. Lots of pages used
  12. If you go on any ATW Overlands you will need even more blank pages. At end of overland description on O ATW website is info on visas and number of "clean" pages required in passport.
