I don't think that the crew have been mentioned. Presumably they don't have the option of avoiding this cruise, unlike the passengers. This might be a nightmare for some of them as well.

I was on a Greenland cruise in August. Each morning started foggy but then glorious sunshine and no wind. No problem with tendering at Qaqortoq and Nanortalik. Maybe I was lucky. It was suggested that it was better to do some of the excursions early in the day; not so as the visibility was so poor until about 11a.m. I found the country and people totally fascinating.

Recommend Deal and Canterbury as mentioned. Also, Broadstairs. Broadstairs' spectacular coastline has seven sandy beaches and bucket loads of seaside charm. There are fishermen’s cottages, clifftop walks and independent shops lining unspoilt streets. The town was Charles Dickens’ favourite holiday spot and his legacy includes Dickens House Museum. Eateries include smart restaurants, quaint cafés and 1950s ice cream parlours. Broadstairs offers seafront hotels with stunning views, boutique B&Bs and guest houses and quaint self catering properties.

Emilia Romagna has borne the brunt of the storm, as red alerts issued by the Italian government show. Ravenna is unrecognisable after the damage it has suffered. But the neighbouring regions of Marche and Tuscany - which were under an amber alert - have also been hit by heavy rainfall. Further south, the government has issued yellow weather warnings for areas including the cities of Rome and Naples.
