I traveled with my teen son last summer and after doing the math, it really made sense to go ahead and add the HIA for him as well. He used all the benefits (specialty dining and excursions) and used his non-alcoholic beverage package a lot. You just have to do the math and figure out what works out best. Honestly, if it comes out close, it's more convenient to not have all the individual charges on the statement.

Now I'm confused. If you only have the Surf package, you won't be able to text externally? If you can't text, what is the point of the surf package in the first place? What else can you do with it? I don't ever make calls, but I do send lots of photos by text back to my husband so he can live vicariously through me while I'm traveling.

This is what I was quoted to select our room. It's $780 each. That's seriously crazy town.

Exactly, it was $700 per person to pick our room. I hate not knowing, but I'm not paying that much.

This is our first cruise where we have opted to allow HAL to assign our room instead of choosing our own (the price difference was ridiculous.) How are in advance do they generally notify you of your room assignment? Is it the same week or two weeks out or does it just depend? Not that it matters because we get what we get, but I was just curious when we might know.

Does this mean that the only option for getting food at lunch on embarkation day is the Lido?

I'm looking at my itinerary for my upcoming Iceland cruise and trying to figure out which ports are tender ports, but don't really see anything. For some reason it was in my mind that at least two of them were tender. Anyone know how to tell?

I'd like it the afternoon of the second dressy night.

Our days at sea are Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday. Wednesday and Thursday are in port 8am to 5pm. I Tuesday seems to early and Friday too late. Anyone have thoughts?

We had the premium package on our most recent trip and it was hit and miss all the time. The movies available are okay, but not great and there are really no tv options at all. HGTV and the Food Channel. Don't count on the in-room entertainment for a quiet evening in.
