Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Not COVID (negative), but a sinus infection. Not fun! Sore throat started Friday morning, full blown infection didn’t hit until Sunday afternoon. Think I probably lost weight on board, I’ve never eaten so little over the course of a week. I’m going to seriously reconsider any future cruises (none planned, but was looking at planning another).
  2. Hello there! I'm on this cruise! Super late to the party - booked as a free cruise through casino match, going to be in a cove balcony (and very excited for that!). I'm 27F, traveling with my aunt. First vacation as just the two of us, so that should be interesting - we previously went on a family cruise as about 10 of us in 2017 I think? No excursions planned at this time, we're looking to just lay on the beach, be in a pool, etc. Might still book something, but it's not a priority. Taking it very low key. I like sea days with just lounging, drinking, eating, playing cards, and leaving out of NYC was probably my biggest priority. We live in NJ (about 1-1.5 hours with a bit of traffic), and I normally drive my parents to the port to sail on NCL (they go to Bermuda out of NYC 2x per year) so I'm very familiar with driving in, but I don't particularly want to park at the port... just an expense I haven't planned for, it's just as much as the cheers package! Might look into the EWR transport to the port if we can get in on that, it's just that much easier to get to the airport via public transportation if we have to. Just a few more days! Going to start getting my stuff together today. Need to coordinate everything we are bringing. We basically just started planning.... this week.... been booked for a LONG time.
  3. Sailing June 19, we have received one approval out of four, which was under a week from application (don't have exact date). The rest of us are still waiting, and mine was the first one sent, on 5/29. Doesn't seem to be a timeline really, but I did hear that they prioritize based on sailing date as you do have to enter your ship and sailing date initially.
  4. From what I know, mine as well. Granted our CAS cruises are not in my name, but its been 100% managed through NCL, start to finish. When you print the documents, it does list your casino as the "travel agent/contact". Other than that, definitely recommend upgrading! We upgraded to balcony with all the "free at sea" perks. Yes, we ended up paying for the cruise - but we're going away for the week in a balcony stateroom to our favorite beach with all meals included for $600/person. I recently spent almost $2k to travel by myself to Antigua for 5 days for a wedding. For me, worth the upgrade and just dealing with NCL thus far.
  5. We live in NJ so we only live about 1:15 from the port. That being said, we sail as a family of 4/5 with all of our luggage. If taking a small car, like a sedan, you can park anywhere you choose, both a garage and port will be about the same price unless you do like you say and stay the night somewhere, or are willing to park much further away. If you are taking a larger car, like a mini van or large SUV, the costs at the local garages is actually MORE than the port itself after all the BS fees they add on. On our upcoming Joy cruise on 6/19, we are taking a mini van and parking at the port for $40/day (night?). We have done it before with no issues, and short walk. It is REALLY nice not having to wait for anyone.
