We sailed on Uniworld many years ago. We really enjoyed it. We are 4star mariners and really appreciated the excursions that were included. Because there was a problem with the original ship we had booked, Uniworld added a pre cruise stay in Prague with tours, and travel to the new departure 'port' including reserved train seats and station pickup. All in all it was a great trip.

1978 on Rotterdam V, Hal cruises since.

I have been watching for your blog. You provide an overall view of the cruise, not just the ribald parts of the days. An honest review of the experience. Thanks y ou.

The 'sparkling wine' is generic. The gin is more expensive as is the vodka.

I've followed you for a while. I am so glad that a lot of the veteran(not old, or military) HAL cruisers have returned. I've sailed HAL since 1988 on the Rotterdam V. Unfortunately, not that sailing is possible, thar dreaded mystery dog respiratory illness has made it impossible for me to have reliable dog care. So I am following both you and LAFFENVAGAS(sp?). Both of you have great blogs.

Thank you for the wonderful travelog and ship observations. Since 1988 we have exclusively sailed holland america starting on the Rotterdam V. We were still working until recently (Covid) and still have not gotten back. I am especially envious of you. Can't wait for the World Cruise. Elaine

I am in awe a an ocean bar waiter who remembered our names on a different cruise a couple of years later.

David and I were lucky enough to have decorated hats presented to us by our servers. We have them framed and hung in our bonus room.

Remember the food has significantly more added salt. Also need to drink more water to help that. True weight will show a couple of days at home.

I am glad to see you back. I too aspire to 5 stars but don't think I will make it. I haven't been able to sail since 2019. But am working on it.

We first sailed other Rottwrdam V, we loved the old world feeling, we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, we have continued to sail Hal, because reading comments on other cruise lines, the ones we could afford, didn't meet our expectations. Also friends like Hal as well so we travel together.
