Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were aboard the Reflection back in March.A couple sitting in front of us were openly vaping in the Theater during a show. No one said anything to them including the bar servers that were serving them. I moved since it made me uncomfortable and I saw others move as well. I reported it to the Captains Club hostess and guest services the next day and I specifically addressed it on my post cruise survey . Of course now I understand why I was completely ignored.
  2. I truly understand the Cuban gentleman’s nostalgia to see his country so near and yet so far away. 62 years ago at the age of 12 my parents made the ultimate sacrifice to put me alone in a plane to Miami to save me from communism . We started cruising in 1972 and have cruised past the Cuban coast multiple times it always fills me with sadness and nostalgia to see what my beautiful and once prosperous country has become even though all my family was able to leave in the early 60s. Thanks for posting. By the way we saw you last week sitting outside of Murano as we were going in you both looked wonderful. Thanks for, sharing your posts with us.
  3. On the Reflection now no prime rib and lobster not showing on the menu for next Chic Night. We shall see. We did have lobster at The Porch and Murano but for a fee. I miss the Prime Rib!
  4. On Beyond now in a Concierge Cabin on deck 10 no noise or creaking whatsoever thank God. We have had other issues but no creaking……
  5. Has anyone stayed in concierge cabin 10130? Is it one of the ones with the creaking noise?
  6. As a survivor of Hurricane Andrew when our house was destroyed We are heartbroken for our neighbors in the West Coast. We have already made donations to the Red Cross and urge everyone that can help to,do,so. The devastation in some areas is immense and it will take a long time to rebuild. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of them.
  7. We just got off the Infinity last Saturday. We did not witness any segregation of passengers in the dining room, theater, casino or anywhere else for that matter. We had no idea who was or was not vaccinated on the ship. Because I’m immune compromised my husband and I apart from maybe 2 or 3 waiters were the only ones wearing masks onboard. We asked to be seated apart from others in the dining room but most tables were very close to each other and we saw different people sharing large tables. At least on the Infinity that is not happening.
  8. I agree with you for some people, vaxed and boosted it’s just a bad cold (like me) for others like my husband its being extremely sick in the hospital for 4 days having to receive Remdesivir IV treatments and still suffering from Long Covid a Month later. To make general assumptions that its “just a cold” for everyone is not right. We were very lucky we had tested PCR negative on April 7, 2 days before boarding Apex on April 9. Next day my husband woke up totally disoriented and could hardly walk. We took him to ÉR thinking he was having a stroke . to our amazement he tested positive for Covid and his blood oxygen was extremely low so he was admitted for 4 days.and continued to be sick at home for 2 weeks . I immediately cancelled the cruise for the next day. On Saturday I woke up with a headache and sore throat went to Urgent Care where Rapids for Covid and flu were negative next day my PCR was, positive. I just had bad cold symptoms for a few days. I shudder to think what it would have been like if all this had happened onboard a couple of days later.
  9. Respectfully Disagree about not testing etc. We were supposed to leave today on the Apex. Had PCR tests on Thursday came back negative. Yesterday my 79 yr old (otherwise healthy) husband vaccinated and boosted woke up with a cold brain fog and extreme tiredness went to ER tested positive and is presently in the hospital in patient receiving Covid treatment and oxygen. I tested negative with a home rapid test but I’m beginning to feel symptoms. Although disappointed about cancelling cruise we are thankful this didn’t happen onboard. Hoping everyone stays safe.
