Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Trader Vic's Mai Tai. Bloody Ceasar in the morning.
  2. I have another pet peeve for ALL the cruise lines... I have been on 10+ cruises and the Konigsdam was the first ship I encountered that had a little shelf (here I go with shelves again!) that you could put your foot on to shave your legs. Otherwise, you're half in and out, with towels on the floor and hopefully the toilet nearby to put your foot on. Yay Konigsdam! God bless you for realizing some of us want to shave our legs easily when we're in the Caribbean!
  3. The Eurodam has shelves for clothing instead of drawers. If I want to hang a dress, I lose a shelf. I figured by the end of the week, I would be used to it, but no. It was still annoying. After 59 years, I prefer my underwear in a drawer and not on a shelf!
  4. We stayed at the Even hotel in Seattle, on July 21st. It was reasonably priced compared to other hotels. We paid $335. When I was price shopping, most hotels were going between $500-700. It is an IHG property. It was very nice. The hotel and rooms were very clean and stylish. They focus on Wellness, so our room had Yoga mats and balls (which we did not use...)Shower pressure was really good! It was about a 20 minute walk to the Space Needle/Seattle Center. Uber rides from around the downtown area ran about $11. The restaurant was good. No swimming pool, but! It had a really fun outdoor courtyard area, with comfortable seating in different spots, firepits, games like corn hole, etc. It is about 15-20 minutes to Pier 91 and I think about 10 minutes to pier 66. We would stay there again.
  5. Your 6 year old would probably love to see the gum wall over by Pike Place Market... https://unexpectedproductions.org/gumwall/
  6. Can you change your check out time? Or do they put "7 AM" for everyone? What if your check in time is different than the friends you are traveling with?
  7. My Family had to cancel their November cruise, but I'm still going. I did not book the Have it All package because they are not drinkers. Once they canceled, I called my travel agent to ask if it was too late (family canceled on the last day of payment, but didn't let me know until next day), to add the Have it All. He called and you have until the day before you leave to add package. Because I am suspicious, I called HAL to confirm. They did. So 2 weeks after making my final payment, I added the package.
  8. Hello. I'm a first timer with HAL and was curious about spa services. I'm currently comparing the prices for services and it seems you can get lower prices if you book before you cruise. If you use the spa, do you book beforehand or wait until you get on board?
  9. I received my upgrade offer in February, but ignored it. Roughly 2 weeks ago, I thought "why not" and put in the lowest bid. I was notified that they accepted, 3 days before I leave. Hope that helps with a timeline for the process.
  10. I'm on the Sun, Thursday 21st. I booked an inside cabin, 9335. I submitted a $100 bid ($200 for 2 people, I'm traveling solo) and this morning I received an email saying they accepted my bid to move to a balcony, 10031. I am happy! Now if I could just decide between dog sledding and the Mendenhall glacier river float...
