Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Awesome, thanks! It would be great if they could show them in one of the bars, but if I can watch or at least listen on the MLB app (which should have similar wifi demands to the SNY one, I would imagine), that would work. And there are certainly worse places to watch a game than with Alaska passing by!
  2. Oh that’s great to know! Has anyone been able to successfully watch a baseball game that is only broadcast locally on the regional sports network (in this case, nowhere near the departure port or destination)?
  3. I don’t think so, though I have heard that the pub operates sort of like a sports bar. But with there being so many baseball games in the season, they’d have to have the full MLB package on the ship to show those games. I don’t know if any would be nationally broadcast.
  4. I'll be cruising toward the end of the MLB regular season (Quantum OTS to Alaska), and I'm a big baseball fan having a hard time imagining being so disconnected from the team heading into the playoffs (knock on several pieces of wood). In port I'll be able to at least check scores, but I'm curious about viewing options on board. I'm guessing there is little chance a random Braves game could be shown in any of the lounges or common areas. Would an internet package get me enough to at least listen to a live radio feed on the MLB app, even if video might be dicey? That's probably the only reason I would get one, but it might be worth it to me if it's reliable. Thanks!
  5. Thanks, that makes a lot of sense re: extra ice in the water!
  6. This is what I'm planning to do in September! That said, I don't think the salmon start running till the second half of July, so it might take a little bit of extra luck earlier in the season.
  7. I'll be traveling on Quantum OTS with a friend in September, and we typically start any trip together with pedicures. Is there a way to book similar time slots on board, or is this not necessarily an option in the ship's spa? We're living in different states now, so it would be ideal to do it on the ship either on embarkation day or the first day at sea.
  8. Hi everyone, My friend and I just booked a balcony cabin on Quantum OTS in September 2024! The itinerary is 7 nights r/t out of Seattle, with planned stops in Sitka (9:30-5), Skagway (7-5), Juneau (7-5), and Victoria (late afternoon-evening). This is my first time in Alaska, and I'm curious- if there are no "scenic cruising" days listed, does that mean we will not do any of that type of thing, other than what will surely be gorgeous just sailing in and out of the various ports? Or would something like Endicott Arm/Dawes Glacier or similar not necessarily be noted at this point? None of it's a deal-breaker, just trying to get a feel for what to expect. Thanks!
