Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I am 80 years old, and I've seen NL once in my life from Seattle WA when I was a child. My father woke us up during the night to see. They must have been pretty turbulent to see all the way down to Seattle. He spent 10 years in northern Alaska, so probably saw them and he must have paid attention to the forecast.
  2. Cattolica, thx much. I went to their website and missed that altogether.
  3. We are flying into SNA. Does Uber have a dedicated pickup area or can they pick up at the terminal arrival area? And if it's a dedicated area is it obvious with the signage?
  4. I don't read all the threads, just one's that I'm interested in learning about or contributing. But this has to be one of the best threads in a long time. Good questions and responses! Got some good info for helping my SIL on the Discovery in December.
  5. My question is in line with the topic description: Questions about DMW, but not related to the hot topic of late. I have made reservations on the app at 6 pm, same DR, same time every night on the Discovery, Ketchikan DR, shared table. But I read that we may have to wait in line for those who sat at 5:00 to be done. I'm trying to minimize crowding for the sake of my SIL. Is this likely to happen?
  6. It's interesting, when I try to complete a virtual booking, and i choose my stateroom type (balcony, mini, etc), the description details "complimentary room service." With the careat for charges for balcony dinner, pizza and beverages. And 'subject to change." I guess the folks with the bar certificates are saying, this covers us just fine.
  7. I'll only answer what I do know. DMW is Dining My Way and SD is Specialty Dining, such as Sabatini's or Crown Grill.
  8. I would like this sign: I paid Standard Fare, can I borrow a drink from someone?
  9. Once I find her on FB, is it obvious how to get to the webinar? I don't navigate FB very well. Rookie, not a power user! And I'm not an agent, is it accessible to everyone? Love this thread, BTW.
  10. Good to know. Nope, haven't been on the Discovery. You're singing my song. I do specialty coffees, juices and cookies. We will embark on the little 4-day cruise right after you disembark. Thanks for the tips.
  11. Yes, it's been a little while since the last cruise! I understand the ships don't have to rely on the winds any longer. Haha! Hasn't been that long! But thank you for the answer.
  12. I am able to get all the food my body can consume onto my tray in the buffet. But carrying it to the table may not be very pretty due to serious balance issues. Is there staff available and willing to carry my tray to my table? Or are they only looking to fulfill drink orders? Discovery Princess.
  13. DD is totally into her Atkins Protein Shakes. Can she carry on a few of them or is that prohibited? I don't see it listed on the prohibited listing. Or is it on any menus in any venue? Discovery Princess out of LA. TIA
  14. I was lurking on this topic. Great thread and great information, folks. This is the way topics are supposed to be! All positive information, not a negative comment anywhere. Now I'm motivated to do some dancing on my next cruise in December. Woo-hoo!
  15. I'm surprised some knowledgable people on this forum haven't answered you yet, so I'll just throw our my opinion with limited experience. I very much doubt you have to disembark that early, but my GUESS is by about 9;00. I'm guessing, not that experienced. I don't see Glacier Bay on your itinerary, just Endicott Arm on Wednesday. Even though it's close, I doubt they just swing by GB. Again, hopefully more knowledgable people will respond to you.
