Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. You can also wash some stuff in your sink Detergent sheet ratings
  2. I would talk to them if not book a 2nd person for free and have them be a no show, 🙂
  3. Did you pay the rate for 2 people, you "should" get the points in my opinion.
  4. This from the FAA site Electric wheelchair, mobility scooter In cases when the batteries are adequately protected, it is preferable that they remain installed in the mobility aid; however, there may be situations when that is not possible or safe to do so and in these cases the batteries must be removed. This description is for a wheelchair or mobility device that does not have a protective housing for its lithium ion battery, i.e., the mobility aid does not provide adequate protection to the battery. Lithium ion battery size is limited to 300 watt hours (Wh). One spare battery not exceeding 300 Wh or two spare batteries not exceeding 160 Wh each may be carried in carry-on baggage. I get the feeling if you needed to you could have 2x200 Wh batteries that you connected together as long as no one person passed both thru security or whatever at the same time 🙂
  5. I have done about 6 TAs but don't recall one in Miami, firs.t of getting the ship cleared can take a while as the whole crew usually has to go thru immigration. The start time can be delayed, I have always walked off with our luggage and have had lines of about 20-30 minutes going thru immigration, customs has been a courtesy at the most. Do not appear to be in a rush, you are not coming from a known drug country so it should be pretty simple. If you are going to travel much out of the country get a credit card that offers a decent sign up bonus and offers global entry, use the card to pay for your cruise and then do the Global Entry Signup, it is so easy when we came back from one cruise I wanted to declare an item but did not even see the customs people/line.
  6. I look at the last time it was refurbished, I prefer an older smaller ship but if it has been more than 3 years since it was refurbished they are either going to get rid of the ship or it it going for a major refurb in the next year and they are putting off any repairs or changes.
  7. I would pick the top so that no one can look down on my balcony.
  8. You should be able to see the NCL tours by now, the islands are nice and i found this if you want to see about local tours: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/profile/673759-amevola/ We have just booked a panoramic tour of Tenerife with Spain Day Tours. We used them in October 2022 for our Beyond TA both before and during our cruise. Here is the link to read more about it: https://www.spaindaytours.com/spain-shore-excursions/tenerife-shore-excursion/ You can read more about the company as well We took the opposite TA a year ago and it was a lot of fun, but I really do not like sailing East due to the time changes.
  9. I have to disagree with the HOHO bus we usually take the bus all the way around and then decided where we want to stop on the next round, it allows us great flexibility, also some offer free wifi too!
  10. It really depends on what you want to see, sometimes with the ships tours you need to wait for a full bus and they can be larger, more touristy. But for tender ports you do tend to get off the ship first. For Santorini do you want to tour the town or go to the other side? Most of the times the private tours will be the way to go but as always YMMV. Funny side story years ago on a Celebrity cruise to Alaska the naturalist on board took our the same private whale watching tour as we did. To me that was all I needed to know I made the right choice. If you want a more offbeat or private tour book your own for a mainstream safe crowded tour go with the ship speaking with a very wide brush!
  11. I have done quite a few TAs and then we first started taking them they were less than full but once word was out what a great deal they were they have pretty much always been full with the Exception of out Lisbon to Rio cruise but I feel that was also due to lack of staff. The upside is that you have fewer children and more experienced travelers. Many Europeans seem to use the TAs to spend the winter in Florida no luggage limit and you get a cruise too!
  12. I have not looked at all 6 pages but you should use some kind of airtag if you have an iPhone or a Tile or Samsung tag. Any one of them will allow you to keep track of your bags. Very cheap insurance to make sure you know where your bags are located. We have had bags delivered to a totally wrong cabin on the other side of the ship. Using the find my Airtag app made it very simple to track down our bags.
  13. I would look here: https://www.tropicalsnorkeling.com/snorkeling-destinations/ Bonaire has great snorkeling but I am not sure how many cruises go there.
  14. I just unplug the cable that is plugged in and I picked up something like this, it is easier than trying to bring and use a remote.
