Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I have changed ship and itinerary. Went from Seaside (eastern) out of Miami to Seashore (western) out of Port Canaveral..
  2. If you did not book aboard (Future Cruise Program) I don't believe it will work. Following is from MSC booking and terms. The new departure date must be within 90 days of the original departure date. Any change to a date that is more than 90 days from the original departure date is considered a cancellation and is subject to the above cancellation charges. Also I hear from others it has to be 90 days after not before the cruise. If you booked onboard the FCP applies. " Allowed to move a cruise date within the term of 1 year from the departure date of the cruise package originally chosen." The 90 days has been removed. However MSC customer service is hard to work with and I don't know what's happening in the real word. If I'm reading it right the standard booking terms say you don't get a refund on the lower price but with the FCP you do. Standard booking and terms If the price of the new Cruise Package is lower than that of the original Cruise Package, no refund will be due to the Passenger. FCP "If the fare of the new cruise package is lower than the original one, the the new fare shall apply". All of our 10 cruises on MSC have been in the YC, so protecting the deposit is important.
  3. We witnessed the man playing the guitar and singing in the YC that the thread is about. I thought it was weird and we would have preferred it didn't happen. However it wasn't a big deal. On a Seaside cruise in October there was a young couple that played the guitar and drums. They were well liked by the YC director and staff. They were not allowed to play in the topsail because of the drums. However they were allowed to play in the Seaview lounge along with an MSC musican that they had befriended. They were good and it livened up the Seaview.
  4. Yes different date. The benefits are listed in the FCP above. I find the increase in OBC and double points are a nice perk. If needed the price guarantee and date flexibility hopefully work to your benefit. If you book aboard your booking is automatically transferred to your TA. I booked a cruise for Nov when on board a couple of weeks ago. I ended up with $500 OBC from MSC. That doesn't include any OBC you may receive from your TA.
  5. Ok thank you. We got off the Seashore 2 weeks ago after a 11 day cruise and got the same answer. I wish they would have explicitly written it in the FCP document. All they did was to take out the 1 change restriction. This will probably never affect me but I would like to know the score before going in. Especially when dealing with MSC customer service.
  6. Several TA's on social media jump up and down an say you can only make 1 change even if booked onboard. The FCP says you get more than 1 change excluding Bella level. The FCP also says it prevails over the standard MSC booking conditions and terms. Also when aboard the Seashore the FC manager told me you can make more than 1 change. I understand MSC customer relations can give bad information and can be hard to work with. I would like to know if others have had any problems related to this issue?
  7. Parking not a problem, cars start queuing up around 9am. Opens 10am or later. My biggest fear came true regarding the increase of Seashore YC cabins of 131 vs only 86 on the Seaside. Dinner was crowded with the worst wait day 2 more than 30 minutes. It was the first time we were greeted by the hostess with an iPod. That said we actually like the Seashore a little better than the Seaside. It has a little more shade in the pool 1 area because of the expanded area. The double layout loungers were nice. We like the layout of the back of the ship better. The Market Place buffet moving to 16 is convenient. The Cabaret and Uptown lounge is an improvement over the Garage and Heaven lounge. We are long time fans of the YC and are willing to put up with a slightly more hectic YC dinning room. We have 3 more YC cruises booked on the Seashore.
  8. Has nothing to do with Port Canaveral. This story is out of South Carolina.
  9. I would pick the one that overnights in Ocean Cay. Ocean Cay is a real highlight of any cruise. If you can get a second morning in OC then that would a bonus vs more time in Nassau. Note if booking an outside YC cabin the Seashore normally docks on the starboard side (right) in OC so that side gives you nice views of the island.
  10. Off the Seashore today back to back YC, deck 16 and deck 18. Both are good but give the nod to 16. Middle for us is best, definitely not behind the Y.
  11. Thank you for the pictures! Could you take a pic of the daily planner. Thank You!
  12. Hello thanks for posting! We will be on Jan 7th. Could you tell me if show times are at 7:00 or 7:30 for the first show during the 7 day cruise? I believe I saw 7 off of a planner for the 7 day cruise before yours and then 7:30 the short cruises. Both of our 7 day cruises in the Seaside in October were at 7:30. Not a big deal but it will determine if we eat early or late in the YC.
  13. We have done 8 straight 7 day cruises on Seaside and enjoyed the YC with only 86 cabins. Favorite places in the YC for us are the pool buffet, pool bar and topsail and they are the same size on the Seashore as the Seaside. We were curios about about over crowding in those areas. Our next two cruises are in the YC bon the Seashore.
  14. If you are parking at terminal 10 could you please give us an update on construction relating to delays, etc .
