  1. Correct - but the other 90+% of parking at POM is covered.
  2. Larrys Limos is the most often suggested provider for Miami and FLL. We used them a while back and were happy!
  3. Lots of hotels in the Rocky Point and Westshore areas of Tampa offer airport shuttles. Pre-cruise only a couple in the Rocky Point area (Chase Suites and others) also offered port shuttles - not sure any still offer them, but you can call and check. Taxi from any airport hotel to the port is only about $25+ and Uber or Lyft should save you a couple of dollars.
  4. "Best" is a stretch limo with a stocked bar - call Larry Limos Cheapest is likely SAS or another shared shuttle - about $15 per person UberX or Lyft should be about $50+ for the 40-45 minute drive - a taxi will be closer to $75-80 on the meter.
  5. Lots of beach clubs lined up along the same side of the island at PB. From PB you can see Mr. Sanchos, and a bit further down is Nachi Cocom. I think Sanchos is only AI now, they have water toys and several pools - my daughters lover the "lively" atmosphere. Nachi is also only AI, less crowded (limited to 130 guests per day), no water toys, and is very quiet and relaxing. Your call.
  6. The advice from all of the locals is to only park at the port. If you search this board you will find some who said they saved money parking off port, and many others who said their reservation/deposit was "lost" the shuttle never showed or was hours late, and some who returned to find their cars vandalized. Parking at POM is covered, convenient and safe. Parking anywhere else will likely not be covered, will not be as convenient, and for sure will not be as safe. It's your car - do you feel lucky?
  7. Resortpass.com will connect you to hotels offering day passes to the beach/pool/spa facilities. Tip them to store your bags while you swim/relax/get pampered and enjoy lunch and drinks.
  8. Best bet is a one-way car rental or Uber.
  9. You should call for Uber from the port - no telling exactly when you will get off the ship, find your bags and clear customs. For 4 plus bags you will likely need UberXL or a taxi van - the cab will run $80+ on the meter and Uber XL should be a little cheaper - you can do a mock booking to verify, but surge pricing may affect what you are quoted when you are at POM. The ride from POM to FLL takes about 45 or so minutes; I would store my bags and then head out to lunch somewhere, or look at wwwresortpass.com for hotels offering day passes to their pool/beach/spa facilities. Have a good cruise!
  10. The only way to guarantee a room is to book it for the night before and then advise them that you will not arrive until 7:00-7:30 (so they don't give your room away as a no show).
  11. All of the prices are in US Dollars - they only want bills, not change, but never had anyone on Coz not want to deal in $$
  12. Westshore is where I think you should look - close to TPA airport so most hotels will offer an airport shuttle, and there are lots of dining and shopping options. Hopefully you can find the medical treatment you need close by. Taxi from Westshore area hotels to the port should be about $25+, and Uber or Lyft should save you a few dollars. Post cruise you can taxi/Uber/shuttle to TPA to pick up a rental car, or there are hotel locations for both Avis and Hertz near the port that may be able to help with a one-way rental or try the Enterprise in nearby Ybor City. Have a great cruise!
