Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I think it is Bay Garden in Oistin’s ( Right next to the fish market)
  2. We used this company in 2019. https://endlesssummertours.co.za/hluhluwe-umfolozi-safari/ They picked us up at the cruise ship terminal in Durban and we spent one night at Hluhuwe-Umfolozi Park. It was a package (transport, accommodation & meals) so we didn't have to think about anything. We saw lots of wildlife. From the website it shows they have a few other options for longer trips as well. Hope this helps, enjoy your trip.
  3. Yes a single invoice. it shows the following for Free at Sea: 2 x Shore Excursion Discount 4 x Internet Package (150 Minutes) 4 x 1 Meal Speciality Dining Package
  4. I recently called NCL to book a B2B, expecting it to be 2 separate reservations but linked, like it has been in the past. When I received the confirmation email it was one reservation for the 21 days. I thought it was great at first, then like the above poster, I started thinking about the latitude perks I might miss out on. i.e. Only receive them once in the 21 days. So I called NCL & was told I would get the perks twice as if it was two separate cruises. (10 day + 11 Day). I have not been on the cruise yet so I can not confirm that is what actually occurred.
  5. I recently did Plitvice Lakes as a private day trip from Zadar & used Romeo and Juliet Excursions. Plitvice National Park covers a large area and we found it very helpful to have a private guide navigating us through the park. It is a beautiful park and I highly recommended it. Wear comfortable shoes, as there is lots of walking.
  6. Did 2 MSC cruises this year.( Feb, & April ) The health questionnaire was not collected on either one. (Middle East & Europe). Funny, one cruise it printed yes /No & the other cruise I had to guess 😂
  7. The ticket you might be referring to probably pertains to an Excursion ticket. With MSC If you purchased an excursion through the ship the ticket for the tour is usually delivered to your room the night before the day of the excursion. That is usually when you find out the meeting time. Unlike some other lines that you have all the pre booked excursion tickets delivered on the first day with the meeting times included. I like to plan ahead so when I am on an MSC ship I tend to go and ask the excursion desk a few days before if they could give me the meeting times & they are usually able to provide the information.
  8. Scoochy12, I have done 2 “Break of “Voyage” on MSC this year. I can not speak for Le Havre specifically but the last one we did was in Europe. We went to guest services & asked for the form to be filled out requesting a break of voyage. One thing to note. We were told, once you are off the ship you can not come back on. For example if you want to go on an excursion the morning of your new disembarkation port or even for a quick stroll in the city, you will have to take your luggage off the ship with you one time. You will not be able to return to the ship after the excursion/stroll to retrieve it. ( at least that was our experience) Enjoy your trip
  9. Unless you are Aurea or YC, once you chose a dining preference ( early or late) you will be assigned a table number at a one particular MDR for the entire cruise. It will be on your key card. The name of the MDR & the table number. Regarding the pizza restaurant… There is no charge for the pizza at the pizza buffet on World Europa. Next to the pizza there was also focaccia. On the other side was beef burgers, chicken sandwiches soft pretzels, hot dogs, cookies, fruit salad and some other American items. Enjoy your cruise.
  10. Yes 1 invoice for 21 days (1 booking#) & only 1 deposit. The itinerary is one combined list with Air on both ends.
  11. Thanks for pointing that out, I had not even thought about the shareholder perk aspect.
  12. Wondering if anyone experienced this scenario. I called NCL to book 2 cruises back to back ( 11day + 10 day) and the agent booked it as 1 cruise (1 booking number) for 21 days, although it was not advertised as such. I thought that was great. No changing cabins, no new key cards etc. Today I was looking at the reservation and noticed the tips for the "free at sea" dinner were for just the one dinner (for 2 people). That made me think about all the latitude perks I should would be receiving as a platinum member. Per cruise, 1 free laundry, 1 free dinner with bottle of wine, 1 free dinner, strawberries, water, cocktail party etc. Will my perks reset after the first 11 days on the ship or will the cruise be considered as 1 cruise ?
  13. Regarding Excursions, I did World Europa in February out of Abu Dhabi & found MSC’s excursions to be priced reasonable compared to Viator. On Sir Bani Yas we did the MSC Safari around the island to see the wildlife. There are 2 different style vehicles to choose from. It is not very long ( maybe 2 hrs) so you have time to do other things on the island if you want, maybe kayaking. I think in December the water might be too cold for swimming. In Dubai we did the MSC Panorama tour from Burj Al Khalifa. It was $120 usd pp. In Abu Dhabi we went to the Grand Mosque, which was amazing. If you like art, the Louvre might be worth a visit. You can see it from the port, cool looking building. We did the Grand Mosque independently as we were there for several days before the cruise. As a reminder MSC gives a 20% discount for booking excursions before getting on the ship. I concur with another poster, taxis are readily available in both Abu Dhabi & Dubai and I found them reasonably priced.
  14. Kingbob of the north explained it well. Just to add to that. MSC calls the request "A break in Voyage" form. One thing to note when I did it we were told that once we left the ship we would not be able to return. So just ask about that in case you were planning on leaving for a few hours for a walk about or an excursion on the morning of disembarkition & then returning to the ship to grab your luggage. That may not be possible but I would get clarification from the front desk on that as each port may have its own rules. Enjoy your trip.
  15. To answer question #3). Just recently got off World Europa sailing the same itinerary and the customers were mainly Russians and Italians. The attire around the pool was extremely skimpy that included the beach day at Sir Bani Yas. Just pay attention to your tours when you go ashore. The daily will give you guidance and if you booked a shore excursion through MSC, it should also give you the suggested dress code, especially if you are visiting a mosque. (Arms, legs, and head covered for women) The Mosque in Abu Dhabi is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy your trip.
