Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We hadn't sailed with RCI for over 10 years but sailed Oasis of the Seas last summer only to spend time with our Daughter, Son-in-Law and 2 Granddaughters. Not only was the food subpar, in both the Windjammer and the MDR, the cleanliness of the Windjammer was below subpar. I know I will get slammed for this but......I wouldn't book another RCI sailing even it was FREE!!!!
  2. Thanks for the detailed info. Since we only stay at Marriott properties (Husband'sTitanium status as a result of 39 years of Corporate travel) will look at Residence Inn.
  3. Just thinking of the Oasis makes me cringe. Sailed her last summer to be with Family!! Spending time with them was Fantastic! Sailing on the ship was the worst cruise we've ever taken!! 6800 passengers that included triple and quad occupancy (double is 5400) and that was the least of the issues!!!!!
  4. I always recall my Italian Maternal Grandmother telling me this when I was about to choose June17,1967 for our wedding date. We chose June 24th instead and have been married for 56 years.
  5. My only experience has been sitting on them. I don't know if, when it's turned into a bed, additional padding is put on. Not sure how much a difference it would make unless you booked a Higher Class suite.
  6. https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-ships/celebrity-reflection/accommodations Above is the link for Cabins on the Reflection. We have travelled Concierge class on all S-class ships and the sofa is usually made up into a bed by the staff while your at dinner. You can also google the various suites to see which would be the best for the three of you.
  7. Thanks but we're not flying in. Driving up from PA. Flushing is definitely out of the way.
  8. Family Group (7) sailing out of NYC on the Norwegian Joy in mid July. We all prefer spending the night before in a Hotel in NJ that is the easiest ride from NJ to NY. Would very much appreciate any Marriott Properties recommendations. Thank you in advance.
  9. We were there July 2023 on the Oasis which had 6500 passengers (ship was booked to almost max quad capacity). Serenade was also docked there. Took more than an hour to get off the ship. Got almost half way to the CocoCay entrance looked at each other and decided to go back to the ship.
  10. Bon Voyage Lisa, Owen, and Andrew! Say hi to Harvey in Playmakers for me. He was our waiter in Schooner last year on our Bella cruise! Homeric--Bermuda This might sound crazy but I am replying because you also sailed the Homeric!!! Our first cruise was in June 1981 to celebrate our 14th Anniversary sailing to Bermuda on the HOMERIC!!! Still remember like it was yesterday. Seas were very rough on the return. Only six passengers (my Husband was one of them) in the MDR for breakfast. Movie for the afternoon was "Nine To Five" with Dolly Parton. Seas were very rough and everytime we hit a massive wave, majority (again not my Husband) of passengers in theater would moan. Fortunately,(almost 50 cruises later) I no longer get seasick!!!!
  11. Our favoirite is still the Silhouette for one special reason. As we were sailing out of Sicily one evening in September 2015, we saw Mt. Etna erupt from our port side balcony. Listening to the rumbling sounds and then watching the lava flow was an overwhelming experience. It was the only topic at dinner that evening for those who got to see it, not realizing that the majority of those who were still in their cabins on the starboard side of the ship when it happened didn't.
  12. QUOTE..."Reflection is the most different of all the S class. It has a higher passenger capacity, some find it feels more crowded" I completely agree! We have cruised on all 5 of Solstice class ships and the Reflection is our least favorite!!
  13. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. If no other customers receive the points when they cancel their cruise for medical or any other reason, what makes you think you would be the exception? To quote the lyrics from a famous song....."You Can't Always Get What You Want"
  15. Yes, and even though we are both originally from Brooklyn, we wouldn't have thought we were entitled then either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
