Horse and Buggy Ride

I think I read somewhere that there was a horse and buggy in Cozumel. If so, did anyone every do it? I have never done this and would like to.:rolleyes:

We have been to Cozumel twice and loved it. Both times there were horse and buggy rides both near the pier and downtown in the shopping area. Two kids and two adults rode from the shopping area back to the ship on our first trip to Cozumel. I think it was about $20 (give or take). The kids loved it. It was a fun end to fabulous day.

What ever happened to these buggy rides? When I do a search of Webshots for Cozumel, I find lots of these picturesque rides. I would love to rent one of these cabs to the main shopping area (Los Cinco Soles?) and maybe shop my way back to the ship, but I can't find any mention of them on these boards anymore. This last post was in 2004. Are they still available? and does my plan sound do-able?

:( FWIW, all the horses (except 1) looked very thin and in poor shape.

Seems there were two "accidents" involving the horse and buggies just the other day. There was an article posted on another board about it.

The care and condition of many of the horses is of great concern to many people, locals and tourists alike. Have th agree with NHrenee, they do look thin and in poor shape.
