Seadream Or Seabourne/silverseas

We are planning a cruise for next year and would like to take a luxury cruise. We have cruised several times and want a special trip. We like the casual sound of Seadream and wonder if Seabourne/Silverseas might be at all stuffy. We love the luxuries without the formalities. We have been on Cunard Vistafjord which was great and Princess which was way too large and impersonal. Would love some imput.

this is an easy answer..as we have traveled on all of the mentioned. All are better than their competitors. On Seadream you will find wonderful service...terriffic and wonderful food. The suites are just a bit smaller than the competition...no balconies...and the bathrooms are smaller. The crowd is a bit younger....but..if you like formal..it doesn't exist.

On Seabourn, you find, luxury..with no problems that I can think of. The crew and staff are beyond exceptional. You are addressed by name and your desires remembered with in a day. The food is special. The balconies are not walk on. The thing about them that works..you have fresh air..and you can lean out and see well.

On Silverseas.... you have a beautiful ship with little leadership. The staff and crew are into themselves rather than you. The food is not compared well to the prior two ships.

We've only tried the Sea Dream but for our next "adults" only venture we are making a Seabourn cruise. On our most recent Sea Dream cruise, having children on board really changed the tone and we've heard that ours was not an isolated cruise. I think the all casual is attractive to families, notwithstanding the lack of facilities. But, if you are taking your children and plan to get off on every island -- it is truly wonderful.

SeaDream is more casual and intimate. Because of it's size, you have more interaction with the rest of the guests. Service is exceptional. You feel like it is your own private yacht. No lines, no waiting. Tenders are always waiting for you. No balconies but didn't miss them. Bathroom was small but nice. Evening activities are limited to the lounge, piano bar and tiny casino. This would be the more adventurous choice. Loved the drop down marina. Would highy recommend you try this line.

Silversea is slightly more formal. Larger ship but not huge. Still an intimate feeling. Fabulous suites. I liked the service and did not feel that the staff was "into themselves" at all. More action at night. Great pool and spa. Wonderful food.

My husband and I both agree that this is a tough choice. Fellow guests were from every country, well traveled and fun. You can't go wrong with either one.
