Dream casino?

How is the dream casino? Is it big enough for the amount of pax?

I felt it was much more open than the fantasy class ships. Whenever I was in the casino (which was alot), there was always empty slot machines available. Never seemed crowded like my previous cruises aboard fantasy class ships.

We noticed the machines on the opposite side of the tables were empty quite often.

I never noticed it being over- or super crowded...I will say that the one night we decided to play a table game, there was only one blackjack table with seats available, but it was completely empty...

I was wondering are the slots all computerized now, you put your card in and the winnings and losses go back in forth on your card. Or are they the old school ones where when you win the coins are making a racket from the falling into the tray. I prefer the latter but I think most casinos have moved away from these. It's pretty exciting when the quarters are just flowing even if it's just a few dollars.

I'm sure they built it big enough to take everyones money.

We played in the Casino on the Carnival Ecstasy last year and all the moneys were transferred back and forth from your card. No ching, ching, ching falling into the coin tray.

You can use cash to insert to play the slots, but the payoffs will be transferred to your Sign and Sail card that you have inserted. No thrilling noise when you win!

Coin machines aren't really made these days (I work for a slot machine company and we don't make them anymore), so it would have to be really old machines. Which I doubt they'd have on a new ship.

Gone are the days when you could hear, ching, ching, ching. Now they know that when you just hit the butto, they are making more money. Doesn't take even a second to hit that button. It took longer to put your coins in before (your money didn't go that fast) and it was more exciting back then. The first time I played the dollar machine and heard the dollar coins coming down, oh boy, that was noise. :D

Ok i have to say i don't like the ching, ching, ching. I like the money moving up my card get up go to another machine download my money. Coins might sound great but boy are they dirty and if you want to move to another machine because you are tired of the machine and you have maybe $80 dollars worth of credits on there have fun picking up all those quarters fro the hopper and hope it doesn't run out and have to wait for them to fill it up. If you look at my cruise history you will see mostly carnival sailings, but if you look at the most recent one and you want to hear the ching, ching of quarters that's where you need to be. YUCK. Glad to be coming back to Carnival that has no ching, ching, ching.
