Periwinkle blue dress ~ ???? color shoes??

Long sleeved periwinkle blue dress......... not formal. What color of shoes do you all suggest? I'm stumped other than having a pair dyed.

How about a metallic colored shoe? You could wear silver, gold, bronze or pewter...........then wear them with other dresses too. Or one of those shoes with the clear plastic upper and heel? You could wear those with everything and anything.............

I just purchased a periwinkle color dress, except mine is formal. I bought a pair of silver shoes and they compliment the color rather nicely. The nice thing is they also go with my second formal dress which is red. IMO you can't go wrong with silver...very versatile.

Silver. I have the same color gown. Silver sets it off quite well.

You mentioned that your dress is long sleeves and not formal, so I think rather than silver, I would choose black patent leather. Either something in a strappy sandal or simple pump.... only my opinion. (my other choice would be a slightly off-white)

I was thinking about your conundrum again............you could also use taupe colored shoes with your dress. With stockings, your shoes would kind of visually disappear.......... :)

I agree that a metallic is the way to go, with pewter being my number one choice, silver #2. Gold or bronze might look "off" with periwinkle - I think you'd need to take the dress with you to the store and compare for that one.

Wear taupe so that they "disappear"? Not me, I wear gorgeous shoes, I'd *never* want them to disappear!

No, no don't dye to match. You'll look like a wedding party escapee! LOL!

I agree with everyone that said silver. I too have a periwinkle blue dress (though mine is formal) and I wear the cutest silver strappy sandles with it and it looks fantastic.

Metalic shoes would be excellent for formal dress. For a less formal look, I'd wear bone or taupe.

Those would be a bit dated.

still haven't decided........... probably the silver, but it will have to be very strappy........ I'll probably break my ankle in a very strappy shoe.

The dress arrives next week, so will try matching with what I have, then go out in search.......... Ahhhhhh I do love to shop for shoes!!!!!!

I also have a dress this color and I was not sure about shoes either. I tried on several different shoes, and the ones that looked best were a strappy sandal in a neutral or skin color.

Just make sure to get clear shoes that don't have closed toes. I tried a pair on for Prom about 4 years ago because they would have looked awesome with my dress but I put them back when the toe area fogged up!!

LMBO! Foggin up the toes...too funny. The pair I have are like a high heeled sandal..open toed with just the strip over the top of my foot and the buckle around the ankle. The heel is kind of chunky and I think that is the coolest part..the way the entire heel is clear. My friend joked and said that we should put blue colored water in the heel and float a tiny cruise ship in there:D
