Carnival Triumph. - status of submitted travel expenses

Haven't seen any posts for status so thot I would share.

Today I received a call from Carnival inquiring about my receipts I submitted to guestcare@carnival.com.

I had only submitted hotel, parking and one meal receipt. She was inquiring if I had more and particularly gas as I had not included any for gas.

We didn't get gas receipts so figured it was our loss, no big deal. She said to get a screen shot of my online banking and as long as the dates reflect between the 15th and 19th I would be reimbursed.

It was an additional $140 so I am now getting back $405 for the expenses occurred to get home, including the parking at Galveston.

They are moving through the eMails and I was told it was being worked in the order submitted/received.

I submitted mine Saturday night the 16th.

I was on board also, but I am not aware of what is reimbursable, how did you find out? Perhaps I missed an announcement?

I do know that someone rom Carnival called last week and told my husband that we'd be receiving a package or packet in the mail within a couple of weeks...are you also expecting a packet?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Oh, and I agree that Carnival has handled this well and offered sufficient compensation, just FYI.

Hi SeMichigan,

Jen did make a comment on one of her many announcements, and some got a letter in their cabins. There were four in our cabin and so I did not get the hard copy. I will attach the picture I took of it with my iPad while one of my cabin mates was holding it.

In a nutshell:

We received a full refund for this trip - mine was back on my card before we were Alabama.

No charges to SignNSail card - excluding art, gift shop and casino purchases.

I was later told excursions as well would not be refunded.

So tips, coffee bar, pictures.... No charges.

We will receive $500 and a future cruise. The future cruise is a credit towards your next voyage equal to what you paid for this one. Or a percentage off on a 5 or 7 day cruise.

Scan all expense receipts and send an eMail to guestcare@carnival.com

I included in the body of my eMail my name, break down of the expenses incurred, and my contact information.

I have heard someone posted phone (international charges) for calls and texts.

Someone else posted they included mileage - using the standard allowable limit per mile the government permits on tax returns as their guide.

They are not reimbursing for lost wages.

This is the information your package will entail.

The Triumph was a 4 day girlfriend cruise and our trip March 3rd (next week!!!!) is a family trip with my husband and kids.

My group is looking forward to booking our future cruise! And our group has grown !!!!

Someone had posted she called to reschedule or book her trip and was upset they still wanted her to put down a deposit. Just a heads up.

Glad you made it home safe and sound, hope you have a new and exciting voyage on the calendar soon and have a wonderful time!!!

The Magic is a beautiful ship. The Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel route is fantastic. Next time we are in Grand Cayman my husband has to look for a job!!!

semimichigan- There was a letter in the stateroom that said we could submit our travel expenses. I tried to find it but i am sure its burried in our cruise documents and pictures.

I submitted mine yesterday, I submitted for mileage as I only bothered to get a receipt for gas on the way back home since I knew I would need it. Hopefully they will pay the mileage rate. If not I will have to get a copy of my credit card bill (luckily I used a CC for my gas)

I forgot about my on-board phone calls, I just checked my Verizon account online and those charges are not showing up yet, I will have to call them and see if I can get a total.

If Carnival raked their heels on reimbursing the passengers who were on Triumph when she had the accident, there would be hell to pay all over social media.

I am glad that they have already given you a credit for the cruise. Hopefully the rest of your reimbursement will come quickly.

I just received an eMail confirmation my check will be cut and mailed to me today.

I submitted parking in Galveston, hotel in Alabama, meal, 2 tanks of fuel, and my personal cell phone texts and calls. I did not submit mileage.

I only scanned in my receipts and eMailed them to guestcare@carnival.com. - did not fax anything.

The eMail stated a larger amount is to be reimbursed then I submitted so I replied letting them know.

Wow they are working diligently!! I just got reply eMail - she saw a fuel charge my husband made in Texas that I missed because I was looking at out of state transactions only.

Should get expenses reimbursement check soon.

Way to go Carnival :)
