Jewel of the Seas Unscheduled Port

Recommended Posts

One of the people on our Meet and Mingle rollcall just got back from the Jewel and sid they had problems with one of the azapods that caused the ship to list a bit to one side on her cruise. They were expecting parts, could have something to do with that?

Hi,

Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas did not call in Stockholm as planned today due to a technical delay. The delay was caused by a mechanical issue with one of the four hydraulic motors on the starboard propulsion system ... so the ship must sail at a slower speed until repairs can be done later in the week. More details of the impacted itinerary here:

Any new updates on the Jewel repairs being done

The ship is in Helsinki today ( 8/4) and according to the CC article repairs aren't even scheduled until the ship arrives in St. Petersbrug on thursday 8/5 and friday 8/6. Certain CC will post and update sometime late Friday.

According to the following website http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml the JOS has left St. Petersburg. This only tells us it left St. Petersburg, it doesn't tell us if any more repairs are needed . But as least it's left St. Petersburgs. No news is good news !

To check the ships location click on the above link. Than click on Ship Tracker, than click "Find Ship by Name", type in Jewel of the Seas. (make certain to type seas and not sea ) than click on postion. Than keep clicking ZOOM IN until the ships name shows on the screen .

It's Sunday 8/8/2010 and CC still has yet to post any update regarding the mechnical repairs that were to have been made/completed in St. Petersburg last week.

I advised in a previous post that according to www.sailfx.info.com it showed the ship was no longer in St. Peterburgs as of April 6, 2010 at 1510 UTC The tracking site shows that the ship hasn't moved since April 6, 2010 and has been in the same postion N 59°57', E 029°53'

It could just mean that the ship hasn't reported it's position since 8/6 or ????? It was supposed to have docked in Talian yesterday and should be cruising today.

Please someone from CC post an update. Thank you .

We were on that cruise and the ship was fixed in St Petersburg and is now back to normal. We wouldn;t have known any differently anyway apart from the stop at Visby. As it happens Visby was absolutely beautiful!

Thank you so much for the information.
