How Long To Wait??

How long should a passenger wait until they start bugging their TA because their docs haven't arrived yet?

My TA tells me that the standard for delivery of docs was ~ 30 days prior to sailing and that has been our past experience. However, she now tells me that now 2-3 weeks ahead is not uncommon. For our Zuiderdam cruise just completed, we received our docs exactly 3 weeks prior to departure. If you are under 3 weeks, I would ask your TA to do some expeditious checking with HAL if he/she has not already.

Thanks for your advice. On my last Z cruise the docs were in my hands long before now. Was starting to get a bit nervous.

hang in there, they will be there, isn't it exciting another cruise,enjoy your cruise and may you have many more cruises to come.

Documents

You didn't mention if HAL is arranging your air, or if you made your own air plans, or if you live near the pier.

If HAL is making the air arrangements, sometimes they don't get the e-tickets from the airline until about 30 days from date of flying.

I received my docs at least 6 weeks before our July 17th cruise. Good luck.

i also booked my own airfare and will be doing what your doing now my final payment is in and now i have the countdown to di but its okay it makes me feel like the cruise is close each day happy cruising to you

I would give your TA a call. We are sailing on the Zuiderdam on 7/24 and I have already received my docs. We did book our own airfare also and I had to pay up front for my cruise as I booked a special rate in May.

my next cruise is sept 19 sttendam from vancouver to vancouver can hardly wait i have been to alaska numerous times so this time i am relaxing and enjoying the ship, i can't wait and counting the days till then.

Have always received our cruise docs at least a month before the cruise, whether or not we booked HAL air. I would definitely get in touch with the TA and ask where your tix are.

*--Re-living our last cruise makes the wait for the next one bearable--*

I was in there after work today and still nothing. The TA I do business with on a regular basis had left for the day so I will try again on Friday. This is making me worry a bit.

i am actually on your sailing of the "z"

i got my cruise docs in the mail about 1 month ago. but then again i booked directly through HAL's special accounts dept because i "won" this as a free cruise, so that could by why i got them so quickly.

i have a friend on the same sailing as well, but she has yet to receive her documents either. her TA told her that they get the docs 3 weeks before sailing and they mail them out when they get them so that she should expect them to arrive about 2 weeks before sailing.

That would be vacation hell! I don't have mine yet for either week 0710 or 0717. I at least know they had arrived at my TA's cruise agent, but because I did a last minute upgrade they had to be redone.

I must have been haunting my TA a bit too much cause she said she would call Me when they came in. Probably next week.
