Can you believe it's August already

Have you been able to diet steadly

 

Summer's are hard with all the BBQ's and such

But we can still eat right.. sometime we do but to much

 

Lot's of veggie's and fruit are good

Remember they still have calories.. there a food

 

Better choice then chips and dip

But to much can still hit the hips

 

Everything has calories except plain water I think

Glad it is good for us and it's easy to drink

 

Now if exercise was as easy as tipping a glass

We all would be healthy and thin and be...

Your all at the Top of my Class.

Your all trying and doing well.

I haven't been doing as well as

I should. Life's been a little stressful

here.

 

Mother wasn't doing to well but is

better now. Along with her memory loss

heart problems. Husband had a little setback.

Better now.

 

Then dear old me..had surgery for skin

cancer on my chest near neck and on

my back. 99% sure it's the lesser type

but not completly sure till tests back. So

lot's of stiches on the front and back. Big

bandages and tape..hard to sleep.

Finally shower and smaller bandages tomorrow. (Wed.)

 

No excuse I know but lately stress is getting

in the way of my eating. I Promise to do better.

Know I'm not talking as much..if I promise to talk more..

Will all of you too? Need to cheer everyone on and give

hints, tips and reciepes ect!

 

I NEED A CRUISE!!!!!

Hi Belle. Maybe it's your "never give up" attitude, but whatever drives you, it sure is inspiring to partake of each and every week. Thank you for the commitment you make each week to pull strangers together, to egg them on in an ongoing challenge to better ourselves, and give us something to focus on and keep up the battle.

 

Me, I decided it was time to try again-my own personal 30 day challenge, 180 by August 30. Starting at 192 this morning. Went shopping last night and got lots of good veggies, protein, and acceptable snacks.

 

No cruises planned, instead it's a milestone birthday for the Mrs. on the 30th, going to ride the train to the Grand Canyon, do some hikes around the rim and just celebrate life.

 

Good luck everybody, looking to hear some great successes this week!

Belle, I am so sorry to hear that your mom and husband had some setbacks. I am glad that they are better. I hope that your tests show the lesser cancer and that you will be okay.

I am up .5# this week. I don't know why...thought I was doing well with my eating plan but the scales don't reflect that.

I am going on a cruise, but not until next July. DH and I are going with our daughter, her dh and her two young children. We are doing 9 days out of Bayonne, on the Explorer of the Seas. I am really looking forward to it. I didn't cruise this summer so I am having cruise withdrawal. :(

Good Morning Everyone! Loved the poem again this week, Belle! :)

 

Not happy about my progress this week (or lack there of)!

Here are my Week Four results for the Ten in Ten Challenge:

This week I lost 0 pounds.

My total weightloss so far for the 10 in 10 challenge is 7.5 pounds.

That keeps my total weightloss to date at 74.4 pounds.

 

I was hoping for a loss this week. It does get frustrating when you continue to do the same thing and some weeks you see a loss and others....nothing. But, I will keep plugging along!

 

Our next cruise is coming up in 15 days! We are sailing our of Miami on the Carnival Liberty for seven days and will be going to Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. We are so looking forward to it and will be traveling with close friends for a total group size of 14. We all travel together frequently and it is always a hoot. I am still holding out hope of hitting my revised goal of 80 pounds down by the time we leave on 8-17-12.

I'm on day 17 of a 21 day Ultimate Reset where I learn to eat clean again, and detox my body. So far I'm down 14 pounds. I have finally broken the plateau I was on for months. My Family and I will be going on a 7 Day cruise next May from New Orleans to Belize, Roatan and Cozumel.

Hello Everyone,

 

Belle, sorry things are stressful but glad your mom and hubby are better. I send you lots of positive thoughts that the cancer is the lesser kind.

 

Some bad for my hubby too. I think I mentioned he sprained his ankle on our last cruise in March. Turns out he has a torn achilles tendon. He has surgery September 11th, 2 months in a hard cast. That is going to be miserable but we'll do the best we can. He owns his own business so he must work. Not sure how that will go.

 

Weight: Last week I gained 1 lb. then reported on Saturday it was gone, but it's back so I stayed the same.

 

Cruise: We cruise on September 2nd for my 50th (blech) birthday. Western Carribean: Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, Grand Cayman.

 

Hubby is wearing an immobilization boot but can get around with a cane. We plan to snorkel a lot.

Well, another not so good week. Up another 1lb to 155.5. Darn

Must. Not. Loose. Hope! People at work are commenting on how good I look. I just need to keep remembering that when something temps me.

I am down 18 from the first of the year so it's not like I can't loose the weight. It's just getting much harder the closer I get to my goal.

 

On the other hand DH and I will be on the Victory 12/2!!! Then another week in Puerto Rico to rest up from St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Martin, and Barbados. 2 weeks with unlimited and bad for you food that you want to try because you will never see them again. Love to try new and different foods. Later this month we are also going to Florida for a week. More of potentially eating high calorie, bad for you foods.

Hard to eat right when you are eating out a lot. Beginning to be very afraid of how much I will weigh when we get back.

 

winewanderer- DH and I were on the Legend 2 years ago. We had a great time. I even got him to try ziplining. He said he liked it but did not think that he would do it again. We also snorkeled with the sting rays.

Belle ~ glad to hear your DM & DH are improving & pray that yours is the lesser cancer.

You're so kind to encourage us when you have such trials yourself.

 

Well I've had some sort of stomach upset which might have helped with the weight loss this past week. I couldn't believe I'm down 3.6 lbs this week.:eek: I'm below 140 for the 1st time in many years & only 10 lbs away from what I think is my ideal weight.

 

My next cruise is a week away, a little 5 night cruise up a canal here in Ontario. 2 years ago I did a route from Kingston to Ottawa (our capital) & now from Kingston to Peterborough. I'm really looking forward to it after these weeks of recovering from knee surgery which is progressing rather slowly

My next cruise is on NCL Dawn Canada New England Sept 28 for 14 nights, really looking forward to that one.

Belle - glad that your mom & DH are doing better - Hope that your testing comes back as good as possible.

 

I'm still not weighing myself, but trying to be good and I've done a lot of exercising. Its been crazy here - son's wedding the 18th of August and my MIL is not having a good time with back pain and dementia ... its so difficult to get old sometimes.

 

My next cruise is September 14th - from Boston to Bermuda on the Dawn ... My birthday is the 18th and I will be celebrating (??) that I will turn 60 :eek:

 

Belle you are also a September birthday --- remember the birthday bashes from years ago???

Sometimes the body needs to rest a week. Inches

Yes it does make us sad when not going on a cruise!

How are you doing in your 30 day challenge? Your

really good in your outdoor exercise and eating.

Grand Canyon trip sounds good. It will be fun.

We took the train one year and the bus around

the rim and got off at different spots. (should of walked)

Stayed at hotel by the train.

Have to say I stayed the same again. Been some problems

but at least I didn't gain.

Sunday was a struggle - wife slept all day due to night shift work, it was 110 outside, so the fridge and pantry kept calling me - didn't do too bad, but what could be a spectacular start to my 30 day challenge may only be pretty good instead.

 

Work days make it easy to eat right, but tough to exercise, and the weekends are the opposite, struggling to find the balance,

Yes..Why Oh Why are weekends harder???

 

Maybe because....

We're relaxing

Sleep to much

Not working

More food around

More drinks around

Party's and BBQ's.

 

Is that enough excuses to choose from?

Then people like me who struggle/have excuses

all seven days!!! LOL

 

Now WE have to say...WE have to fight against

these excuses!! Eat Clean! I know easier said

then DONE! But WE CAN DO IT!
