Anthem of the Seas? Are you kidding?

Recommended Posts

I know it's been discussed before already on other threads. But a story in my local newspaper's travel section yesterday about the names that Royal Caribbean had trademarked a couple of months ago got me thinking... and I'm not sure I like them.

Anthem of the Seas - a singing ship?

Passion of the Seas - no comment! :D

Vantage of the Seas - sounds like a credit card

Quantum of the Seas - time travel ship?

Ovation of the Seas - chococates on the pillows? probably not!

Pulse of the Seas - Hate it!

I think we could do better!

Here are some of my names!

Magnificence of the Seas

Elegance of the Seas

Grace of the Seas

Oracle of the Seas

Gem of the Seas

Treasure of the Seas - This one is piratey but fun! Ahoy!

Glamour of the Seas

Temptation of the Seas - giggles - it's no worse than passion!

Narcissus of the Seas - Just Kidding! :D

Totally agree with you in regards to the new trademarked names...

How about: Sunshine of the Seas?

I also agree that the trademarked names are awful. However, I wish they would avoid using names that other cruise companies use. Like Gem of the Seas is great, but there is already a NCL Gem. And, I love Sunshine of the Seas, but Carnival just renamed one of their ships Sunshine.

Also, I wasn't so keen on Allure or Oasis when those names were first announced, but they did grow on me over time.

From the English teacher:

Sonnet of the Seas

Lyric of the Seas

Ode of (to) the Seas

Ballad of the Seas

Refrain of the Seas

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't think Refrain is a good choice.....people might want to refrain from booking.

How about these nuggets; The Queen of the Seas, The Royal Lady of the Seas, The Lady of the Seas. The Sunrise of the Seas, just to name a few.
