I have seen that if you get 1500 points you get free drinks..

How do you get the 1500 points?

Did you lose to get them?

Can the free drinks be gotten anywhere on the sip or just the casino?

Can they be used for anything else?

Thanks

Not sure if it varies from ship to ship but I got 1 free drink in the casino with 1000 points and another at 2000 points. I played alot and yes, overall I lost. On NCL with 1500 points you're given a card to use for free drinks in the casino only. You might be confusing the two.

I was on the Conquest last week and had 1500 points by Wed night or Thursday morning depending on how you look at it, They have it all over the machines if you hit 1500 points you get a drink card, the only kicker is it has to be in the casino and you have to be playing at least something, they will not do shots, or doubles but basically any drink on the menu, every 20 mins. Only had one problem with the waiter being so slow I ordered a drink and was playing and about 10 or 15 mins goes by and I am ready to do something else my drink has not arrived and I saw him at the bar doing all the other tickets and figured I would grab it there and head out, well he got a little snotty and said "you have to be playing" to that I said I was p[laying when I ordered and you took so long I am finished now. I still had to walk back away from the bar but he gave me the drink. I said something later to the Host about it and never had anything take very long after that!

No if you accumulate 1500 points (not all CCL ships have the Drink on Us program) you get the free drinks card good for the casino only.

Your sail & sign card is how the points are tracked. Once you get to the 1500 points I believe you have to go to the counter and request it. Don't know if someone automatically comes over when you hit the 1500. Good Luck!

Got it on Tuesday on the Legend in January. The casino host will come right over with it once you hit 1500. I think its something like 2 dollars played for 1 point..may even be a little more. I did lose money to get my card. I think I was one of the fortunate ones though and lost a total of $20 when I earned my card.

So if you gamble $3000 you get free drinks? I'd rather pay for mine and use the remainder toward another cruise;).

You play the slots. The machines keep track of the points right in front of you. At 1000 points you get a $10 credit. At 1500 points you call over the casino host and they give you a card that they attach to your sign and sail card.

Yes, you can get points playing the tables, but it really is subjective and my experience is that you don't get the credit you deserve.

At 16,000 points they name the ship after you.

We embarked on a 7-night cruise on a Sunday morning, I played in the casino every evening for about 4 hours, and by Wednesday night I had reached 1500 points but no one came around. The next day I wondered how someone would know, and I had planned that night to ask about it. Soo the next night I had been in the casino for just a few minutes and one of the hosts came up to me and said she had been looking for me, and attached the little free drinks card to my sign and sail card. During the week I was playing a variety of machines, betting from 20 cents, 40 cents, 50 cents, 75 cents, $1.00, $1.25, $1.50, $2.00...the majority of my play was in the 50 cent to $1.50 per spin range. After each 1000 points you get a $10 "rebate" that you collect right then if you want it (added to the $$ balance of the machine you're playing). I ended the 7 night cruise with about 3400 points. Friend of mine had just over 5000 points. Saw another lady with over 8000 points. I'd be playing in the casino regardless of perks offered there, so it's nice to get something after a certain amount of play.

The $10.00 back is on the 'Points to Cashback' also, underneath how many points you have. Makes it easier to see.

As soon as I reached 1500 points, I called the host over. Of course, it was the last day before I left the ship....lol.

I don't know how much it is dollar for point but I will tell you how I achieved it... I was playing the penny machine and I put in a total of $40 out of pocket... Two times I hit for $480.

I kept using that money and kept playing, losing some, winning some but still hitting the button until I got up to 1500 points on day 3 of my cruise. I had to find someone to check my points for me and then I got the Drinks On Us card.

I was also told one drink every 20 minutes while you are in the casino playing at a machine. I will tell you that if you tip the staff, they do come around more and quickly...

So, it all depends on how your luck is going that week... Good Luck

Definitely tip your server. They do not receive any tip from "The Drinks on Us" program. I tipped every time I was handed a drink and they were always around me. I had drinks prior to 20 minutes and if I didn't want a drink they brought one for my DH.

I too would be in the casino regardless of the free drink program so it was very nice to have a little perk.

Regarding table games......It is possible to get a card for table players. Make sure you give the dealer your sail and sign and they will keep track. I am not sure of the calculation (i.e., minimum bet with amount of time played) etc.
