What exactley is an UPGRADE and how does one go about getting one?

For example you pay for an inside cabin (no window) on deck 2 and they "upgrade" you (at no extra cost) to an outside cabin with window on deck 6. How do you get one -- pray !!

When you check in at the pier, go to the Pier Coordinator and check if any upgrades are available. You normally pay $400 and up for larger cabins.

You caqn book a specific cabin in which case that is what you will get or in some cases you can merely "guarantee" a certain cabin category. If you do a guarantee you will get a cabin at least in that category and if you are lucky you will get one in a better categoryat no extra charge. As someone else said, you can check at the pier for upgrades that you pay for.
