Taxi fare San Diego pier to airport

Hi - Trying to decide if we should hire a van/car or just take taxis from the pier to the airport. We're 3 couples all leaving at the same time. What does a taxi cost? I believe the pier is really close to the airport. Can someone fill us in? Thanks.

Hi Sandy - I used to live in San Diego (downtown) and a taxi from the pier to the airport should be no more than $10-$12 one way. The San Diego Airport is very close to the pier.

Sandy don't worry about a Van , the airport in San Diego is maybe a 8 to 10 min drive, up N harbor. We stayed at the HI Bayside which is practically next to the airport and the hotel shuttle had us to the Terminal and back upon our return in under 8 min.

The cost will be much cheaper. If you are staying at a harbor hotel they may even take you. The Hilton will I know that (give them a nice tip).

Van style shuttles are at the pier and charge $5 per person to the airport.

I like going out of San Diego with our multi bags and one of bike guys ask us if we need a ride and we tell him the airport:D

They are just lined up all along the pier...............with signs saying $5.00.
