What are "cabin crawl" or "bar crawl?"

A cabin crawl, also called a cabin cavalcade, usually originates within your roll call or a large group traveling together, as a way to see all the different categories of cabins among the group. It can involve drinks and snacks in the cabins, and sometimes a hand of poker ( search poker crawl). A bar crawl (pub crawl) is a group visiting every bar and having a drink. Sometimes the cruise line will organize these for a fee, which includes a drink at each bar, in connection with holidays, such as St. Patrick's Day. EM

We've always thought of a bar crawl as a group of people determined to hit all the bars in an area, be it on the cruise ship or in a town/port. We've always thought of the "crawl" part of the name as indicating how you get back to your cabin when your "excursion" is completed and in some cases, how you enter and exit the bathroom after the excursion ends.My last crawl had only one stop...the Old Lahaina Luau. I went from drink to drink (always bad advice), and by the time I had ended a rather rocky ride on the tender back to the ship, I literally crawled to the bathroom around 3 am. My sister came to my cabin early the next morning ready to leave on a whale watch, went to the bathroom and became hysterical because of the "blood" splatters. It was extremely embarrassing to have to explain (while my head was exploding) that it was not blood, but was in fact a drink called the "lava flow" that I thought I had successfully cleaned up at some point during the night. That was the last time I participated in a "crawl." (LOL)

Don't forget the SLOT PULL. This is when a group of people ante up a predetermined amount of money, load it into a slot machine and each gets a "pull" of the handle, more if the money works out, and all split the winnings. There are different variations on this but this is the most simple, hence the one I like.

i LOVE all of these fun ideas!!! I'll be traveling on the Dream from Oct 23-30, 2010 with 13 others and the slot pull sounds great! I'll be in the casino way more than anyone else I'll be traveling with, so this one sounds like my kind of crawl!:D

And the cabin crawl sounds like such a great idea because despite ME knowing my entire group, some of them don't know eachother (they are all coming with me to celebrate my 50th during the cruise! :)) so the visiting each cabin sounds like a great way to see other cabin types and also get to know one another in each-others "territories"!

Keep sending "crawl" ideas! I will NOT be doing the drink crawl you mentioned above.......that lava drink sounds lethal and unpleasant later in the evening! UGH!
