Does anyone know how far a drive it would be from the port in fort lauderdale (there is only 1 right for cruises?) to the galleria mall, my neighbors and I want to get some shopping in before the flight home

:) Please and Thank you.

Lived in Fort Lauderdale most of my life so can help you on this one ....

The drive from Port Everglades to the Galleria Mall is about 10-15 minutes. Leave Port Everglades and head towards the beach - drive on A1A along the beach to Sunrise Blvd. Turn left, go over the bridge (intracoastal waterway) and the mall is about one block on your left-hand side.

It's a easy drive along the beach - you'll enjoy it. :)

We went to the mall while waiting for our late flight. It was definitely worth it. We really enjoyed it. There were also several good, chain restaurants-Cheesecake Factory, Rain Forest Cafe. I found great deals at the Ann Taylor outlet!

Hi,:) Is the Galleria still as nice as it always was? I lived down

there in the late 80s and remember it being quite nice...more

upscale than the "typcial mall".

I am staying at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper next month

and was thinking about seeing it again.

I usually do "Las Olas" on my FLL cruises (which I LOVE)

but was thinking about the Galleria instead this time.

Hi Lois,

The Galleria is still as upscale as ever. There is no Cheesecake Factory or Rain Forest Cafe there, I think spendlife is thinking about the Sawgrass Mills. They've added some nice restaurants, Capital Grille, Blue Martini and Seasons 52. The food court is still spectacular as well. It's still a great mall to people watch, kinda like watching the "Easter Parade" to see who's wearing the nicest hat so-to-speak. :p

Bequia, thanks:) I knew you would know the answer.

The Blue Martini? YUM..sounds like my kinda place:D ;)

How far is a cab ride over there? Or does the Trolley you

mentioned make a stop there too?

The Sun Trolley brings you just north of Beach Place (which has some fun bars and restaurants in itself) but does not go as far as Sunrise Blvd where the Galleria is. If it were up to me I'd take the Sun Trolley as far north as I could go then cab it the rest of the way. Check with your hotel when you arrive they may have a better suggestion. ;)

(btw, the Blue Martini is the bomb...you have to stop in for a tini)

Bequia,:) I don't know where you live in terms of the port, etc.

but how about looking at your calender...If you aren't busy

the day I arrive I would be happy to buy you one of those

tinis on Saturday night:D (Dec 16th)

My way of a small thank you for always being so helpful!
