What to do with active 5 year old

We will be on the Silhouette in February with my very active 5 year old boy. This is his 6th cruise and while he loves beaches he also loves interesting activities (swim w/ dolphins, turtles, monkeys, hiking, airboats, etc) Any sugegstions on what to do other than beach time? Are there any easier hikes? Are the mud baths suitable for him? Any tour companies you used done with kids?

several options - you might consider the pirate ship cruise with SeaSpray, Lian's Ransom. Cruise down the coast, whale watching, they dress the kids up as pirates usually.

Also may consider Ranforest Adventures with the rainforest walk/hike and the arial tram ride. Interesting and informative, lots of flora and fauna, the tran ride is fun.

Another option is Pigeon Island - it's the sight of an old British fort and lots of ruins around, large grassy area to run around, nice beach area, 2 great restaurants, small museum (small), relatively easy hike up signal hill for amazing views out Rodney Bay and to Martinique.

Another option may be a tour down the west coast to Soufriere- the volcano is interesting - I would skip the mud bath with a child that age though (hot and very messy) -, maybe hike the Tet Paul trail (very easy walk/hike, maybe 1 hour if you ramble), trail has amazing, amazing views over the Pitons and sea, and tour the Fond Doux plantation (the trailhead for Tet Paul is here) where they grow cocoa for Hershey - he can participate in making the cocoa - polishing the beans, rolling the cocoa sticks, etc. Lunch in Soufriere and swimming at the local beach or lunch and beach at Jalousie, both are right there then back up to the ship. Taxi could easily do this, would be about $150US r/t for up to 4 guests.

Thanks! all of these sound great. I think we are going to do the aerial tram and am wondering how far is that from Pidgeon Island and Soufrier? On another board someone said from the aerial tram to the beaches it's a 2-hour ride which would definitely be too expensive and long. Any idea about the distances?

The arial tramride and rainforest experience is in the north of the island, about 30 minutes from the port. Pigeon Island is about 25-30 minutes from the arial tram. Soufriere is a good 1-1.20 hour from the tram, an hour from the port area.

You could probably very easily do the arial tram in the morning, followed by a few hours at Pigeon Island for lunch and beach time. Would be a great day.

Not 100% about whether Rainforest Adventures provides transport from the pier or not - if they don't you can easily hire a taxi who will take you there, wait, then take you to PI and wait for your return. Would be abit pricey, probably about $75-$100 -but you would have a driver for the whole day to point out sights, wait for you at each stop, stop anywhere extra, etc.
