wedding

hey all, just wondering if anyone has been to a wedding on the Majesty. I am going in a few weeks and the bride and groom don't know yet what time the wedding is at. We know that we are boarding at 10am and the ship leaves port at 5pm. We all just want to know how long we have after we board to get ready for the wedding!

thank you!

I got married while on a cruise a few years ago.... I did not find out until the night before what time my wedding was going to be. When I found out it was 9 AM I wasn't happy since I figured it was too early (we were getting married at Emerald Beach Resort in St. Thomas through RCCL).

In the end it was perfect... By 9 AM it was HOT, HOT so if we had a later time we would have really been sweating... Plus we had the added bonus of being all married and done by 11 so we were able to explore the island of St. Thomas.

All in all.... it was perfect and RCCL did a great job.

Our daughter was married on the Sovereign. The wedding was at 2:00. We had to be at the ship between 10:30 and 11. Once all the guests were there, the wedding coordinator escorted us to our cabin, where daughter was getting dressed. I know on SOS they schedule weddings any time after 12:00. The time depends on whether a reception is planned and for how long and whether the photographer is booked. Everything has to be finished at least a half hour before the muster drill, so that those not going on the cruise have time to leave the ship.

Most of the wedding guests were staying on board for the cruise. Those only attending the wedding could roam around the ship while waiting for the ceremony. They could get something to eat at the Windjammer, but could not get drinks as they didn't have a Sea Pass card. Those with cards bought drinks for them.

They also did not find out the time and location of the wedding until a day or two before the big event, but it was no trouble getting the word out to everyone.

I hope this helps

Hi, we got married on the Navigator, May of '03. We had 60 non sailing wedding guests. Wedding partys have priority boarding. We started at around11:30. Our guests were told they could roam the ship, then be in the lounge were we had the ceremony and reception at 1pm. They had to disembark at 3:30pm.

I am getting married on Jewel of the Seas on Feb 7th and will have over 50 guests -- all of whom are sailing with us. We are not getting married in the departure port in part because of the problems with guests cabins. The ship makes sure cabins are ready for the wedding party but not for guests. If you are attending the wedding and are also a sailing guest, the cruise line tells you to come dressed for the wedding. Depending upon the time of the ceremony, you may or may not have access to your stateroom, and you certainly will not have luggage yet.

At least that's what they told me. Some on the boards may have had a different experience.
