Premium Bon Voyage Package

I had asked the Ocean Players Club if I was eligible for any packages on my upcoming cruise (feb.04 2012 Dream) and this is the answer I received.

(We are so glad to hear you are sailing again! Please be advised you are eligible for a Premium Bon Voyage package in your stateroom! We have placed your upcoming cruise details onto our guest list. Have a wonderful voyage!):)

I was just wondering if anyone knows what is in a package like this?

I called them a week or so ago with my info and hubby's info.

Hubby qualifies for the premium package. If I remember correctly they said it was a bottle of wine, a fruit basket, 2 bottles of water and a photo coupon worth $15.

My gambling was only worth their basic package though. I get a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a photo coupon.

I didn't write everything down. So, hopefully I remembered everything I was told (and remembered correctly).

I got one last year, I got a basket with a bottle of wine, fruit and cheese and crackers, 2 huge bottles of water and a photo coupon, not sure if all the premium pkgs are the same but that is what I got, I am suppose to get one again on my upcoming cruise.

My dad and uncles were all sailors and say to this day if they got the call they would jump to it...lol and they're in their seventies :)

I am leaving on jan. 16 2012 I received my letter yesterday and have premium letter will be on board for me. I had notified players club last year before I cruised,

I received players club pk consisted of 2 free entries in BJ tournament and Slot tournament. champange at dinner one night, fruit basket, chocolate covered strawberries one night, Canape"s one day and I did get Cash back I got 50.00 slot play, photo discount coupon and a key chain and while in the casino casino host approched me a few times and asked what I wanted to drink while I was playing, so if you do play in the casino and you are cruising in the future you can fill out the information on the ocean players club about your up coming cruise if both of you play in casino fill out seperately as they send letters out for each pax that has played in casino I am not a heavy player I spend anywhere from 100 to 300 on a typical cruise in the casino and I always notify them after I book to see what they can offer even if its only a bottle of champagne and fruit basket its worth contacting them, don"t be shy its a nice thing to get a little something back I have been on 12 cruises and the last 6 I have contacted OPC. I was not aware of the perks on the first 6 but I am making up for it now, you do not get anything unless you ask they are very prompt in responding within 10 working days you need to fill in your last cruise information and your new cruise information booking # and date ETC. and they will email you if you are entitled to anything on the new cruise, remember if you are married fill out for each of you if one is not entitled the other may be

But what makes you eligible? Is it having played in the casino on a previous cruise, or did you sign up for something while on that cruise that makes you eligible in the future? I hear about this Players Club or Ocean Club alot on these boards but never knew the who, what, wheres of it all.

Thanks.

Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN used to have and excellent ROTC program. Your daughter might check with them. I'm thinking it's Army.

Also, if you are married and you don't qualify on your own, they will combine your play. Last cruise I did not qualify for anything alone, but combined with my husbands play we got the basic gift. So this time I filled my email out with both of our information, just in case, and got the premium package.

There have been a few threads about this pretty recently. If you do an Advanced Search "try Ocean Players Club" and threads only, for just the Carnival board, you'll probably find the threads.

Everyone says "search doesn't work," but the Advanced Search DOES work. You just have to use the right search words and right selections.

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1365327

Every time it comes up, people post what they received, but I think a lot of the responses are NOT for the specific package mentioned or aren't current.

I'm supposed to receive the Premium package and I didn't get a direct response. Someone did post this, though...

"Just got off of the Elation this past Saturday and we had the Premium Bon Voyage package waiting for us in our cabin...a basket filled with fruit, cheese, crackers, dried fruit, and a bottle of white wine. We also received two large bottles of water and were presented with a $15 photo coupon at dinner on the first evening."

But others had stated they received champagne. Guess I'll just have to wait about 6 weeks and find out for myself.

I have some questions...What info do you put in your email to them? I just sent them an email and gave them my booking numbers and my past guest number with Carnival. Also, how long did it take to hear back? Has anyone been denied goodies? TIA!:D

they are currently working on their website so it is only showing their e mail and phone # you need to have played on one of their ships to qualify and you will only need to contact them with previous booking information if you cruised in the last 2 years your last cruise ship name and date and your carnival member # if you have the old booking # it would help but they can look it up if need be then also provide your new booking # cabin # if you have it, the name of ship you are going on and the date and they will determine if you are entitled to any comps on board even if you only went in the casino for a little play it does not hurt to ask I have received 3 pkg that were really nice and the others were just matchplay and a gift nothing great but it was nice to be acknowledge

I do believe there are 2 different pkg One is for VIP if you book a cat 10 11 12 suite they give you a Bon voyage pkg which I have recieved twice for my cat 11 booking and then there is the casino pkg I could be wrong but the Bon voyage pkg was almost exactly the same minus the casino stuff ........free match play free entries in both BJ and slot tournaments and cash comp and free drinks in casino I think alot of the casino comp $$ is under your previous slot play on and table play on previous trips they go back 2 years from what I have read!!

I hope this answers some question you may have I have told my friend and a family member who is also going on this cruise with me to contact OPC to see if they would get anything even tho they are not avid gamblers they did drop some money in casino on our last cruise you never know till you ask!!!!

We are staying in a vista suite on the Spirit in December and got an email today that said we both qualify for the deluxe VIP Bon voyage package. I haven't seen anyone else list this, only "standard" or"deluxe" packages. Does anyone know what we will actually be receiving?

A fruit and cheese basket bottle of wine delivered to our cabin, a plate of canapes, one night and one night we got chocolate covered strawberries also recieved a carnival gift I got a thermos and photo coupons and also got a keychain with carnival logo, as I stated early in other post the casino comp pkg are adjusted to your previous play and are seperate from VIP PKG. enjoy your VIP Pkg it really is a nice little touch to make you feel welcome and special!!!

Thanks Peachcrek but I am still confused as we are Platinum members with Carnival already and we always receive the canapes, strawberries, VIP gift etc. in our room whenever we travel. I was trying to figure out what we get from the Casino as last time we sailed in January we definitely got our 1500+ points in the Casino.

last time I got a casino perk I received free entry in BJ tournament (20.00 value) a free entry in slot Tournament (20.00 value), a free gift it was a key chain you could put a chip in from the casino, T shirt, free drinks when I was playing in casino the casino host came over and offer them to me evey time he seen me playing in casino and I had 50.00 comp cash play and Match play coupon (10.00) table games.

as the other posters have said, be sure to introduce yourself to the casino host as soon as the casino opens so he knows who you are and show him your letter you will receive and enjoy yourself I won 500.00 twice in slot tournaments, I do not play BJ but played in tournament it was free and fun!!!
