As long as the American Queen is on the Ohio or Upper Mississippi River she´s in the US Army Corps of Engineer´s system of locks and can be tracked down online on the Corps website. Click on "Find a Vessel" and then on the magnifying glass. There you can type in the name and search.

Unfortunately there aren´t many AIS transponders for private use on the rivers. So websites like marinetraffic don´t help much. It works on the Lower Mississippi river from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. But higher upriver there are only single spots where you can locate a vessel like in the Louisville area.

Thanks - got the lock where she is located now - but only wish there was a satellite map attached so I could see where the lock was and the boat itself!

Yes, unfortunately there´s no map connected. But go to google maps and type in the name of the lock. Most locks are named after the towns they are located (some are named after people). You can see the lock structures on the sattelite pic of google.

She´s currently in the locks above Louisville (Ohio Falls, Mc Alpine Lock) and within the AIS range.

Here you can see all locks on the Ohio river.
