RCL Dining Room Seating with kids?

We are sailing on RCL in a few weeks with our two children, ages 6 and 18 months. How does RCL do seating arrangements in the Main Dining Room for families? Will we be assigned possibly to sit with others? Or will be assigned a table for 4?

In the past on CCL and Disney we were seated at a table for 4, but we have not sailed with RCL since having children.

Thanks for Any info you can provide!

When I called for something else, the rep asked what size table we wanted. We are traveling with another family and wanted to just be the 8 of us, so that was great! I guess she made note on the reservations that are linked.

Yes on the reservation - they can select table size. It is an actual number. But that doesn't mean once that number gets to the ship that the dining room WILL honor it. ;)

Check your table once you board.

An "8 top" traveling with two families will probably be honored - no problem.

It's the smaller table requests that seem to get lost.

We were 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 4,4,4,4,6) on the Allure of the Seas in November 2011 and FOTS in December 2012. We had a table for 10 - the same table - to ourselves for each cruise. The only complaint was that the second MDR set-up (on the FOTS) was an oval shape so we felt like we had to yell to talk to the other adults/kids at the other end of the table. Also, they didn't put 'families' together, so some poor adults (tables of 2 and 4) had to listen/watch the kids.

Talk to your TA or RCL about what kind of set-up you would like prior to sailing. We chose 5;30 p.m. each night prior to embarkation.

Also, after the first night, the waiter and his assistant knew what our requirements were re: kids appetizers, mains and desserts. Made it much easier the next six nights.

Hope this helps.
