How far out in Ocean do Cruise to nowhere go?

Going on a 2 nighter out of NYC on October 13. Do you think they try to find good weather? Or just go out far enough to open casino and sell duty free? Just wondering? Especially with fuel so expensive and Papa Carnival watching the bottom line like all companies.
