Going to Marigot

What is the easiest way to see the French side of the island? We went to Orient beach on our last visit to St Maartin. We shopped on the Dutch side. This time we would like to see Marigot. Any suggestions on getting to & from the port? Are the roads narrow and difficult?

Thanks in advance.

The easiest way to go to Marigot is to take a taxi. They will let you off in the center of town. If you want a great lunch , try the Tropicana Restaurant in Marina Port Royale in Marigot. Ask to try some of their home made bannana rum. They will even sell you a bottle.

There's a taxi stand in the center of town. It near, but not right at, the straw market. It should be marked on any map of town, or ask someone. Allow extra time for your return trip if there are lots of ships in port and you're returning late afternoon. We shared a taxi both ways, no problem, just stand around at the stand. Everyone is pretty much going to the same place anyway. Shopping was great in Marigot, not crowded, lots of wonderful shops.
