Port Side

I hope this doesn't sound dumb, but does port side mean you'll be facing the port (land) when docked. :confused:

Not to worry. Yours is a good question. The port side means the left side of the ship. In our experience our ships have docked on both sides equally. We usually chose the port side but I do not know why. You will be happy on either side of the ship.
