Any cruise line offer a discount if you pay in full at time of booking ?

Do you have to pay in full if you book on the Royal website

Depends on the timing. The only time you would have to pay in full is if you booked after the final payment date. On our recent RCL cruise I booked very early so I had the balance divided into several payments in my budget.

Also, it pays to check for special pricing periodically. I had made a couple of payments and then noticed a lower "over age 55" rate - so I called and ended up getting a refund to our credit card.

I have seen a couple of statements on some of the higher end cruise lines that give you a discount for paying at time of booking. However, haven't seen that recently. "Early" means if you book a year out, or there abouts.

I havent seen any discounts for paying in full, however NCL often has a promotion with American Express that if you if pay in full at the time of booking with an Amex card, you get $300-$500 OBC.

They seem to run this often. That to me is a nice discount

Crystal gives a 2.5% discount if you pay 6 months before the cruise, no matter when you booked. However, remember, that's 2.5% of $350 to over $1,000/per day/per person!

Thanks Tillie but if I could afford Crystal I wouldn't worry about saving a few bucks.:p

You don't have to pay in full at the time of booking to get the AMEX OBC...you just have to make all payments due for the cruise with AMEX.

BTW...my recollection is that this promotion generally only applies to suites...although it's possible it has been offered with a smaller OBC for less expensive cabin categories.

You know that wouln't be such a bad idea. Many hotel chains offer reasonable discounts when you pay your room in full at time of booking.

I've not encountered any mass market line that does a discount for early payment.
