Just saw this on Facebook. I'm glad to see NCL has ditched Bar Harbor in favor of Portland in the 2016 Canada/NE itineraries. I like visiting Portland a lot better.

...and I sure wish I could go...

Thanks for confirming there are no showers in the gym or in the gym changing area. Not a dealbreaker by any means.

One thing I haven't been able to sort out is if there are showers in the gym. Everyone seems to talk about the spa showers, which carry a price. I have no interest in anything related to the spa, but...

That sounds the absolute opposite of "As You Wish" whether in open or assigned seating, and is every bit as bad as forcing passengers who'd rather eat alone to sit with others. I'm sorry this...

One size doesn't fit all. I've found a lot depends on my mood on that particular day, and is impossible to predict. I should mention I have absolutely no problem being alone, to eat or to do anything...

But, sometimes that's the precise signal we wish to send, that personal interaction isn't wanted. If I have my nose in a book, that means "leave me alone." If my head's up and I'm looking about, that...

I agree with many of the OP's observations so far as the Jewel-class ships, but don't necessarily think the same observations apply to the whole fleet.

FWIW, I found several excellent things to...

This. Exactly. I realize there are others who are very regimented in how they like to eat...same time, same place, same pre-dinner drink, etc. That's not for me, which is why Freestyle is so great!

Thank you! I missed the photos the first time around. I think the new furniture is a big plus. I'm especially happy to see real armchairs that aren't barrel-style.

Bon Voyage to all, and Happy Birthday, Lisa! I loved the Jewel, and I'm looking forward to your views of sailing from Houston. I'm thinking about taking the Jade when she starts sailing from there.
