With a week until sailing, I guess I shouldn't really worry about getting transporation to the ship. We can alway just get a bus or subway over from the Manhattan Pier to Brooklyn..

The NY port has confirmed that QM2 will be departing from Brooklyn Cruise Terminal at Pier 12. It will be open again for QM2's arrival on Dec 22nd so we will also return there on Jan 3rd.

the casino will be open along with the shops. The cruise line usually waits for about 45 minutes after leaving port. We sailed from Saguenay to Quebec City and everything was open.

I stayed at the Pan Pacific a year ago pre cruise. The hotel is very nice, the corridors and bathrooms are a little dated looking, but the service was great and the location is wonderful.
