I'm a solo cruiser, and usually don't get any on-board credit. Beyond the DSC, it's rare for me to spend much more than $50 or so. I take few or no ship excursions, don't eat in the specialty...

I don't. I might email or phone home mid-cruise, but that's about it. I enjoy reading other folks' vacation posts on social media, though.

I kind of admire all you planners. I'm not one of you, but it's fun reading about what you do ahead of time. Flying by the seat of my pants works for me. Planning works for you. NCL accommodates all...

Yowser, not sure I deserved that. I don't see how you infered any disparagement on my part from my post, which just indicated what works for me. Anyway, to bring this back to the original purpose of...

I have. I figure eating dinner at the buffet is one more component of the beauty of freestyle. There's a decent choice, the place is less frantic than at breakfast and lunch, and sometimes you just...

The last time I sailed RCI, I had MTD and requested a large table every night I went to the MDR. They kept wanting to steer me toward a table for two with another solo. I can manage sitting with a...

I've enjoyed all my NCL cruises, and hope to book a couple more next year. It's a very lively yet relaxed vibe, not the frantic pace on NCL's current close competitors. Staff and crew are almost...

I seldom use a telephone when I'm away from work. I have a cellphone, an old-fashioned flip phone, that I use only to make telephone calls when I'm away from the house. That happens only for...

I also had MTD and prepaid grats on my last RCI cruise, and ended up dividing dinners pretty evenly between the MDR and WJ. The Windjammer was much quieter and less crowded than the main dining room....

I'm happy with my TA, whom I've used for many years. I've been thinking lately of either doing it myself, or patronizing local, but can't pull the switch.

I'm glad it all worked out for you. Wishing your wife a healthy remaining pregnancy, and both of you a wonderful cruise. Lesson learned: get insurance next time.
