Only NCL ships with studio cabins have a studio lounge (currently Epic, Breakaway and Getaway). Solo lounge is a slight misnomer, though typically solo cruisers book studio cabins.

I'm guessing NCL still provides a carryon luggage check on embarkation day. They had it in one of the bars on the Jewel a few years ago, and it worked just like a coat check.
