As mentioned, it is strictly a personal preference.
To me, the ship is just about everything.
I do not shop, do island tours, care about culture, etc.
When we get to any of the ports, I either hop on a sailboat, or find a nice beach with beer.
BTW, the great majority of the time you will be on the ship.
