I just booked an Inside GTY with only a 24% supplement (double occ is currently $849). Plus there is a $115 Inside or $225 Outside Crown & Anchor savings certificate, which will hopefully get added on top of the $100 OBC deal I found at a major online TA. Taxes/fees are only another $77. Nice ship and itinerary (5 ports)--I did a very similar cruise on the Jewel (sister ship) 3 years ago, and for more money. A 13 nt cruise for under $1K (assuming the 2 OBC deals come through) seemed too good for me to pass up, especially since I'm from the Boston area and am saving 1 flight.

When I just rechecked the same TA website, the Inside GTY is gone but OV GTY is still available, though that happened before and the Inside GTY came back, so maybe it will again. OV is still a great deal, especially with the $225 certificate. But if this is any indication of availability, you should act fast. Good luck!

I booked a similar TA a few months ago. Balcony for around $900 after SC. The deals are out there!

I was originally booked on this one but when DB decided not to go I switched to the Oasis and Allure. It is expensive but I really want to experience the Big Ships.:D You will have a great time. I have done this repo before and always have a good time.

Like you, I think this is a good price for sole occ on Azamara. Going off to have a shifty at the TA sites as the Azamara site is quoting £2201 this morning. Have always wanted to visit Seville.

:) Hope you found it!

i used the people that have a program on sky tv every night.

If you have travelled on celebrity or RC a few times they honour the benefits,so 150 mins internet, bottle of champagne in the cabin (champagne is not included in the drinks included program )plus a bag of cleaning!

Add to that gratuities included,£110 per night really isnt a bad price.

I intend to stay in Seville a couple of nights & then get a coach to Malaga to see friends :)

Hi....this might not be what some think is reasonable but I do:)

Celebrity just released a couple of new itineraries for FEB 2014 on

CENTURY....she is the oldest ship in the fleet but personally, I LOVE

HER:D and have sailed her 6 times over the years.

She has none of the "bells and whistles" of all the new ships...she

holds a special place for me as she was my first real cruise back in

May 2003...she is much smaller...although 70,000 tons doesn't sound

small but I supposed when compared to 200,000 tons? It is teeney:eek:

She has 2 February Caribbean cruises for 8 nights each......

Prices for a solo run from 858.00 for an inside up to 3000.00 for

a suite.......

A Conceirge Class balcony is quite reasonable (in my opinion) for

2100.00........

Just thought I would throw it out there.:)

I wish they had left her in the 4/5 night market out of Miami. There were some terrific singles deals. I did a b2b cruise on her once. I find it's the ideal size ship. The only thing I miss is not having a t-pool. But their café overlooking the atrium is the perfect people watching spot on any ship.

She hasn't done those itineraries in quite a few years. They are

having Constellation doing 4/5 starting in Dec going through April

out of Port Everglades.

Maybe not a bargain on a per night basis but the 3 night cruise on her on 11/20/13 has single insides are $422.06-$458.06 including taxes and port charges. Since this is the debut cruise out of Miami there will be a fireworks display at sailaway (I think you need to book late seating dinner if you want to see it and still have dinner in the mdr) and complimentary "Diva-tini" cocktails (you probably get the drink for free but have to pay for the glass :D). The only problem is the cheapest insides are directly below the casino :( so for another $36. you can be on a decent deck in a better location. I thought this would be a good way to try out MSC since it's one of their newest (and biggest) ships and also because the reviews seem to cover the entire spectrum I'd rather just dip my toe before getting all wet.

Hi

No, never done RCCI/Celebrity. I found the deal with a TA I've used before.

If I do book, I too am thinking of a couple of nights in Seville.

Had a quick shifty at the rollcall and it seems quite active.

Decisions, decisions!

Yes, cruise pup...lots of mixed reviews (especially from North Americans) about MSC. It will be interesting to see how MSC does when she begins sailing out of Miami. Can't help but appreciate the great solo pricing, and even some tiny mid-ship cabins with small balconies are affordable for solos.

The MSC-USA website is only showng sailings through April, 2014. However...there is a "repositioning cruise" from Miami to Brazil (departure May 24, 2014) not yet listed on their web site, but available for booking if one calls the MSC-USA office (in Ft. Lauderdale). You can disembark in Rio de Janeiro...or stay on the ship for 2 days in Rio and disembark a day later in Santos (Sao Paulo), Brazil. Very desirable itinerary includes Virgin Islands, Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad, and several Brazilian ports. Rumor has it that the Divina has been privately chartered to use as a hotel for World Cup team members in Rio, so there are no sailings in June, 2014.

Your idea to "dip a toe in" makes good sense. I decided to "take the plunge," and hope she meets/exceeds expectations! :D

Unfortunately the more I learn about MSC the less appealing it is becoming. They have the worst website for booking and you cannot view your booking on it. Then I learned that have to purchase water and coffee at dinner in the mdr . Then I requested an extension cord and distilled water for my cpap machine and they told me I have to bring my own (RCCL and Celebrity provide both). And best, if you book a gty they can move you to a different cabin during the cruise. This has to do with their European cruises where passengers board in more than one port. This won't happened to me on the Divina since I have an assigned cabin and I don't think people will be boarding in Pt. Canaveral. So, not exactly deal breakers yet but not thrilled.

Agree the MSC-USA web site needs some updating! When I called and spoke with the MSC-USA representative, I was told that "free" drinking water WILL be provided for the Caribbean departures, including my South America destination cruise, since it originates in Miami and includes Caribbean ports. I'm expecting some "differences" for sure...but booked for the itinerary and decent solo prices. It does appear that MSC is making some adjustments to accommodate the "North American" passenger. I've cruised with Celebrity, HAL, and Princess...and have had great cruises so far. I expect some differences on MSC, but am keeping an open mind, and hope for another excellent cruise experience.

Please post a review when you return from your Divina debut cruise...looking forward to hearing more! :)

I cruised the Med on MSC Orchestra last April and enjoyed it quite a bit. The ship is beautiful and most of the crew spoke English. However, if you're not used to spending time around Italians, which most of the customers were, it can be a bit of a culture shock. We were familiar with things like pushing your way to the front instead of standing in line, but I could see it turned off the other 15 or so Americans on the ship.

Also, since all four of us bought the wine package, we shared two bottles at dinner and then the waiter opened two more bottles and handed them to us when we left the dining room. He said as long as they were opened in the dining room, they were included in the package. We then went to the nearest lounge where the bartender cheerfully handed over four wine glasses.

I'm looking forward to meeting people of all nationalities...the different culture mix should make for interesting people watching! Also, I'm guessing that we'll have a larger percentage of Americans on the Miami departures than you experienced on your Med cruise.

Thanks Podie for posting the wine tip. Note to self: Buy wine package! ;)

Yesterday, I booked 7/26/2013 in a balcony for $1261 +tax, etc. That was a single supp rate of only 40% above the double occ rate of $899. Not bad for an Balcony facing the ocean on Oasis of the Seas.

Since then I added a friend and kept the $899 rate for each of us.

Less than 10 days to get ready though!

The single supp rate is back up now, but watch these for good last-minute deals.

Happy hunting!

I did find this cruise on the MSC-USA web site...funny...it's not listed as a Caribbean cruise, nor a South America cruise...it's listed as a "Transatlantic!" This itinerary isn't what I'd consider a transatlantic...nevertheless...that's where MSC-USA web site shows it, with the option to disembark June 11 in Rio, or June 12 in Santos (Sao Paulo). :) Decent prices for solos...there is a small roll call started...anyone else in???

I don't know if I should thank you or not because I'm booked! The price is good once you realize it's almost 3 weeks so it comes to about $89./night. And the deposit was only $100. with final payment not due til March so I can afford to be a sport and reserve a cabin. Plus they had handicap and it's right near the elevator making it even better. Other cruise lines would charge a lot more for a deposit.

WhoHoo cruisepup! Welcome aboard...come over on to the roll call (there aren't many of us yet)...hope some more solos will join us. :)

I think it's interesting that MSC put the tiniest balcony cabins at mid-ship...and put the most expensive Yacht Club *exclusive* cabins as far forward as possible (Divina). It's great that solos have a lot of well-priced cabins in several categories AND good ship locations to choose from!

I "upgraded" to an ocean view for $180. or $10./day which I think is good. However, the balconies would have gone beyond my budget and I saw how tiny they are. Only advantage is that I could get fresh air. Maybe down the road if it doesn't sell well rates may go down (wishful thinking). In the meantime, I would like to spend some time in Rio after the cruise but World Cup starts on 6/12. The major games aren't until July so maybe hotels will have availability and rates won't be crazy.

Explorer of the Seas-10 night Caribbean (Bayonne)-Dec. 12, 2013. $973.17 (after C & A Savings Certificate of $225) for a solo balcony. Free spa treatment, specialty dinner for 2 and modest obc depending on TA.

Grandeur of the Seas- 7 night Bermuda (Baltimore) -Nov. 1, 2013. $564.32 for a solo inside cabin.
