Post CRUISE LINE Single Supplement/Solo Bargains HERE

If the site starts with a "V" then beware it's not updated very often. If you find a great rate it may already be gone. Use it as a guide to see which line has deals currently and then research a bit on your own.

They once had 5 cruises listed I liked and when I called to book none where available. False advertising imo.

You are right. Often when you try to book at their advertised SOLO rate they say it is not available.

For a long time after Carnival dropped their 150% solo supplement for 1As VT were still advertising it.

Problem with the TA web site listed is that it shows the 0% for studio cabins for RCL ships that have them. I know for some folks that is a good option, but many of those cabins IMHO are in less than desirable locations on the ships. If you truly are flexible and can deal with noise, then I say this is a great option. Unfortunately I am a cranky senior lady that wants to be able to sleep and these cabins don't work for me.

As someone else said, that site does serve as a guide but it is often outdated. What I have had to look at with the new RCL pricing is the per person rate and decide if double that comes out to a reasonable per day rate. Wish more cruise lines would do as Carnival does and make it easy to find solo specials. Maybe the other lines don't have those specials "-).

150% on Allure of the Seas sailings until mid May 2014. In the Royal Caribbean Tuesday sale 15/04/14.

To me it doesn't really matter what the single supplement is if the total price of the cruise is just too high. I did a dummy booking at the Royal Caribbean site and the cruise on the Allure for solo occupation of a inner cabin would cost me $1925 for the May 4th sailing. I sail on the Carnival Conquest on that same date for 7 days in a balcony cabin and my total price is $670 including port charges and taxes. Admittedly I got a special casino deal that other people can't get but the price would have only been $120 more if I had not booked the casino deal even with paying a higher price to get to choose my own room. A balcony guarantee would have only cost me $70 more without the casino special. For a special destination or an extremely lengthy cruise I would pay more but it's just not worth it to me to pay those kind of prices just to be on a particular ship. Anyone can still get that balcony guarantee cabin solo for $619 plus $115 in port charges and taxes on the conquest for May 4th.

These are the kind of solo deals that I would love to hear about from my fellow cruisers at this site. Heck you could almost live on a cruise ship cheaper than on land.

Re the Royal Caribbean Allure pricing - That's because

1. The sale doesn't start until next week and

2. The sailing you chose doesn't have inside cabins with the reduced supplement

So they don't even start the sale until 1 week before the cruise? If the sale is only on until mid-may How would you be able to get airfare that close to the cruise? Just doesn't seem like a very good deal to me. Also if the sailing I chose it is not included in the sale and the sale is only until mid-may exactly which Allure sailing IS included in the sale! Don't need a link just a date! It's not like there's a long list of Allure sailings before mid May unless you're talking about mid May in the year 2015.

Hi Jana, Royal and Celebrity both have "Tuesday Specials"...they

never have them for more than about 6 weeks out.....so you are

correct, if you can't go last minute, they would not be very

special. They never have them for a year out.....it is more in the

genre of "supply and demand"......certain cruises have cabins selling

fast, others? not so much....so if a cruise is only a week or 2 away

and they have many cabins left to sell? Then they would probably be

on the Tuesday specials.

If you click on the link provided, the tuesday sale will make more sense.

It use to be a great deal, last fall oasis and allure cruises were selling at $600 for insides.

Crown and anchor members can book tomorrow and others Tuesday.

So its is $649 plus the supplement making the price $974 plus the port charges and taxes of $114 which makes the total price $1088 for an inner cabin on a ship setting sail in one week. Airfare would be astronomical. I guess my definition of a great deal varies greatly from yours.

last year oasis and allure cruises were $600. That was with 0 supplement. Oasis class ship for $750 total is great deal. I drive to cruises, so last minute isnt an issue for me. Last min deals wont work for everyone

I think it's pretty fair to say that there are NO deals that will work for everyone. :)

Jana, we understand that you don't find it works for your situation. Nobody is arguing with you on that. But for some, who are interested in Oasis/Allure and able to sail on short notice, the deal is a very good one.

I hope nobody would hesitate to post a good deal they found here because someone tried to tell them all the reasons why it isn't a good deal. :)

I always thought this particular thread was a good idea because maybe people could find out about really good deals that would make cruising more affordable for those who cruise solo. Sometimes instead of reporting great deals it almost seems like people are just advertisers for the more expensive cruises. I actually think that $600 with no single supplement would be a good deal for the allure and would have liked to hear about it at the time that the low price was in effect if indeed that ever was the price. Guess I don't see the logic of reporting a cruise that is now 50 percent more. I guess if some of you folks consider over 1000 dollars for an inner room a price worthy of singing the Hallelujah Chorus over that's your prerogative.

The thread is called Post CRUISE LINE Single Supplement/Solo Bargains

Not Post CRUISE LINE Single Supplement/Solo that Jana60 thinks is a Bargain

If it doesn't work for you, just move past it. If someone was thinking about booking allure over those dates, this is a major price reduction

Not sure I see the need to attack the messenger of someone trying to provide information

I agree....what is reasonable and a good deal for some folks, may not

be good to someone else. But I think folks should be able to post the

price for it without being attacked.:(.......what is logical to some,

might be illogical to others but if someone is happy with the price they

are paying? They may want to just let others know about the cruise.

So on Carnival right now for Caribbean sailings in May and June I have found certain sailings that charge no single supplement online. June 14th on Glory comes to mind as an example.

I am thinking about booking two balconies for my wife and I...one port and one starboard to ensure the best view no matter what port.

Has anyone else ever done this? If I pay both in full they cant get wise and try to charge me more after the fact right?

Thanks. I am actually booking an aft wrap on empress deck on Valor for a southern Caribbean cruise. It is only 1350 as a single then booking the famous "L shaped" room on the other side of the ship right across the hall for 1050. Each with 100 OBC.
