Has anyone gone? Is it worth it (35 pp)? What happens there?

People that have done it say it is the best and worth every penny! I have not done it myself but from what I've heard from people that have done it there has been only rave reviews. Hope that helps. :)

I don't get it.....do they not serve alchohol? I've never heard of this party. What ship did you see this on?

Maybe a friends of Bill W event.

NOT a friends of Bill W event. Alcohol is included.

Accept an invitation to become a member of the High Spirits Jazz Society and attend a swanky reception for club members only. At this party you'll step back in time to the days of the speakeasy and inconspicuous consumption. The Prohibition Event is a 1920's themed party featuring live jazz, dancing, handcrafted drinks from the period when alcohol was illegal, and a few surprises. You'll receive a pin and the secret password that will gain you access to this invitation-only party at the spectacular Jazz on 4 club. Just reserve the Prohibition Event online through our Pre-Cruise Planner (RoyalCaribbean.com/PreCruisePlanner) and your invitation and other information will be delivered to your stateroom on boarding day.

The week before Thanksgiving this year we were on the Allure with our whole family including our son who is one of the performers in Chicago and Blue Planet. During the week we were there the cast got invited to a demo of this event and we got to tag along. It was a lot of fun. Great music, servers and performers in period costumes, drinks served in coffee cups and it was a hoot! Everyone in the family loved it and I'd pay to be a part of it again!

Just heard about this myself and can't wait to try it out on the Allure at the end of February. For those that want to read a little more about it, it's under specialty dining on the Royal website. I blow $35 in a few mins in the casino, so i figure we'll get to take part in something new and most likely have a blast! Going to bring our costume, but not sure if we'll wear it since it's a formal night.

It is our formal night on the Allure also - and we are going for sure - what a cool way to party the evening...will be wearing our formal attire too! I believe it is limited to a certain number of people so we booked our reservations on line.

  • 2 years later...

I have done this on Allure and it was one of our best nights. Drinks and appetizers are included in the price. Mainly gin drinks but they were so good. I looked back at my pics and the guys have beer. I'm not sure if we paid for that or if it was included though. I kind od remember it being included.

You will receive things in your stateroom leading up to the event. We received a letter (keepsake) stating the secret code we had to give at the door to "johnny". Everyone was dressed up in great outfits. They served snacks, drinks and had music. We even got "raided" during the event. It was a ton of fun. I did it on the Allure and it's now on the Oasis and plan to do it again. Well worth it in my opinion.

Does anyone know when the option to purchase is available? I'm sailing in March 2015 on the Allure and want to get tickets before they are sold out.

There's no set time. All you can do is keep checking the website.

Where is this party held? Do you have to reserve in advance?

Yes you have to reserve in advance. It shows up when specialty dining shows up. We went on Allure last year and had a great time.
